South Africa

A campaign designed to invade borders.
There are 29000 rhinos left in the world. South Africa is home to 75% of them.
Their horns sell on the black market for more than $60000 per kilogram, to be ground and used as a hypothetical cure for cancer or a vitality tonic for the wealthy.
South Africa faces a massive challenge, an almost impossible one, in protecting one of its national symbols, one of its big five.

Bring your own candles! Celebrate the third rendition of Earth Hour on March 27, at 8:30pm. Simultaneously across the globe, the consolidated effort has seen a steady increase of participants yearly.
In 2009, 15 million Filipinos who turned their lights off saved the country 611 megawatts, six times what it achieved the year before.
Leo Burnett's packaging for Earth Hour is brilliant. What looks like a regular fluorescent turns out to be a foot long candle. The fluorescent box packaging is choc-full of data and information.
A number of businesses have already pledged support of Earth Hour. Count adobo magazine in.

TBWA\Italy
The Smok-Ink exhibition is an innovative project half way between art and science, conceived by Moreno De Turco and Mirco Pagano, a creative team at TBWA\Italy and made with the artistic support of the street artist Ozmo. It is a project by First Floor Under, digital publishing house and event venue, created under the artistic direction of Francesco Guerrera and Nicola Lampugnani.
Humanitas, center of excellence for treatment and research, has supplied the creative team with scienfic information and has supported the project together with Fondazione Humanitas.
The result is a 60 square meter canvas entirely hand painted, with an artistic infographic scientific twist. Numbers, images and words are combined together and tell, with a very understandable but particular language, what happens to the lungs of a smoker.
Smok-Ink (#smokink) is an installation that literally involves the visitors showing "from within" the damages caused by cigarette smoke. The result, therefore, turns the perspective upside down and it is an experience that leaves its mark.

The world is becoming one big WiFi zone. You can get connected in even the most public places like train and airport stations. JWT Amsterdam and Kit Kat say it's time for a break from constant connectivity. In Amsterdam, Kit Kat placed a "Free No WiFi Zone", which blocks all signals in a radius of five meters so people could escape e-mails, updates, tags or likes. Instead, enjoy a good old newspaper or a hardcover book, or engage a real conversation, all while eating Kit Kat, of course.

Beach bunnies found signs of another animal north of the Santa Monica Pier in California. Giant feet left sinkholes and wreckage as a part of a promotion for Universal Studios Hollywood’s upcoming King Kong 3D attraction, which reopens as part of the theme park’s tram tour on July 4th.
King Kong 3D replaces the old King Kong section of the classic Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour, which burned down in its famous backlot in 2008. Recently, the majority of the backlot reopened featuring many new and restored sets.

When Oak fans discovered that their favorite flavored milk can no longer be found in convenience stores, they took their complaints to the Oak Facebook page. Upon further investigation, it was found that not all store owners understood what it's like to be in a state of "hungrythirsty". This required immediate action so "Reverse Robberies" was created by The Monkeys, Sydney. Reverse Robbers, dressed in latex Sergeant John Henry masks (the character from the ongoing Oak campaign) were sent in to frantically re-stock the fridges of Oak-less convenience stores. Reverse Robberies put Oak back on the shelves: mission accomplished.

To raise awareness of the 200,000 homeless people in Canada, Leo Burnett Toronto, in partnership with Raise the Roof, launched a new campaign. To expose the realities behind homelessness, Raise the Roof built 'The Street House', which coincided with the popular Doors Open Toronto festival. 'The Street House' mimicked a home, tucked inside an alleyway, made completely out of cardboard. Viewers who toured the rooms were confronted with tough questions and compelling facts that depicted the realities of homelessness.
Over 2,000 people visited the site in two days, millions were reached through media and word of mouth and over 100,000 people acted, all in efforts to raising awareness for the homeless in Canada.

JWT Singapore revolutionized the way consumers sample a product. In ladies shower rooms across spas, clubs, and gyms, bottles of Lux Magic Spell were installed. The walls and floors of all these shower rooms were covered with stickers made with special hydrochromic ink. Upon contact with water, the white ink disappeared to reveal trails of orchids and other flora used to make Lux Magic Spell. This way, consumers get to experience the magic that is Lux Magic Spell. When the water dries up, the flowers disappear and the shower room looks ordinary again. That is, until the next user comes in.

Brief:
Communicate simply and immediately the quality of McDonald's ingredients. The challenge is to make this usually boring information interesting and easy to understand.
Solution:
Quality layer by layer.
We created three leaflets highlighting McDonald's most popular burgers: the Big Mac, the McChicken, and the McRoyal Deluxe. Each page represent an ingredient in the recipe and explains its qualities. A simple tool to communicate the quality of McDonald's products in all of its restaurants.

Billboard outside the Javits Center at the same time as the New York Auto Show. One side of the board has a working tailpipe that spews exhaust into the air and a headline that points to the 1000+ cars in the auto show that come with them. The other side points to the zero tailpipe, 100% electric Leaf further validating the vision of sustainable mobility that Nissan wants to offer customers around the world. (It's important to note the exhaust is environmentally friendly. But the board still makes an poignant point about Nissan's competitors).

Stop Accidents
McCann Erickson
Spain
While the road accident figures in Spain have taken a sharp downturn in the last few years, accidents linked to drinking alcohol continue to occupy the top spot in the statistics.
Messages aimed at raising the public's awareness of this problem have been used for a long time, becoming almost an advertising subcategory of their own. But very few actually achieve their aim, to convey clearly and convincingly to drivers the real gravity of mixing driving with drinking.
The "Stop Accidents" NGO - one of the most acclaimed for its efforts to build that awareness and for the support provided for the victims of road accidents - decided to set in motion this itinerant communication action.
Inspired by the well-known modelling technique of introducing a ship into a glass bottle, we have switched the ship for a crashed car, a real write-off raised 8 metres off the ground inside a giant, iconic bottle of alcohol. Certainly, the state in which you are most likely to find a car at the end of a bottle.

Try, Oslo
Norway
Reaching -30 degrees Celsius, the winter of 2010 was harsh to the homeless. In Oslo, the Salvation Army had to turn creative in collecting enough money to provide warmth to the needy: a roof over their heads and a place to sleep.
Agency Try, Oslo turned the adshells / alcoves as donation boxes. Through a slot, donated coins dropped into a special design receptacle that could be discerned as a bed while it filled up with coins.

Hold the mayo. Extra bacon. Double whopper. There are many ways of eating a burger. But there’s only one way of having a Burger King Whopper. Personalized. Wanting to prove that Whoppers are made to order, Burger King, through its agency Ogilvy Brasil, Sao Paulo, set to do just that.
And all it took were a hidden camera and a printer.
When a person ordered a burger, a picture was taken. When their Whopper came, individual faces were printed on the wrap, and served face up.
Fresh and custom-made, it has put a new meaning to the term, “stuffing your face”.
As guest judge of the week for the Best Ads on TV, Marcus Rebeschini, chief creative officer of Y&R Asia, says of the ad, “It's been a while since I've seen a good strong benefit demonstration ad that made me jealous. Would have loved to experience that at Burger King. Killer stuff.”

Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne
Australia
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has launched the initial phase of a new campaign for SNICKERS designed to showcase how ‘you’re not you when you’re hungry’. The SNICKERS SESSIONS will follow two Aussie acts - Miami Horror and Phrase - as they record and release a cover song completely different to their usual style, while raising money for youth charity Heaps Decent. For every vote SNICKERS will donate $1 to Heaps Decent.
The SNICKERS SESSIONS is hoping to raise a $20,000 donation for Heaps Decent - a not-for-profit organisation committed to nurturing the creativity of disadvantaged and marginalised young people while supporting the development of emerging artists. The SNICKERS SESSIONS will then follow the acts into the recording studio and document their struggle to wrap their heads around a track that is the antithesis of their usual style. There are five days remaining for people to vote for the song they want each band to cover and help raise $20,000 for Heaps Decent. Once the tracks have been recorded, they will be released on iTunes and 99 cents from the sale of each song will also go to Heaps Decent.

Insights, Strategy and the Idea:
Tunis, January 14th 2011. Tunisians put an end to 23 years of brutal dictatorship. It was a moment of intense hope. But we were all too soon brought back to reality. The entire country went on strike and economic activity was soon left to a standstill. The advertising industry, like many others, was completely stuck. Brands were quite willing to advertise in order to kick-start the economy, but they were afraid of public perception. We needed to find a way to encourage the people to get back to work and start rebuilding the country we had all fought for.
Creative Execution:
So we decided to show everyone how bright our future could be if we all started building it now rather than look back nor complain about the present. We convinced 6 brands and 5 major Tunisian media of which newspapers La Presse and Al Chourouk and online magazine Webmanager to participate in the June 16th 2014 campaign. During a whole day, the media acted as if it were June 16th 2014 and presented Tunisia as a prosperous, modern and democratic country.
Results and Effectiveness:
The content developed by the media spread to social media via #16juin2014.com and people began to imagine wonderful futures and called for action. 16juin2014 hashtag was n°1 top trend topic on Twitter all day long. At 6pm, the debate was everywhere on TV, radios, blogs... Getting back to work quickly became an act of resistance. The operation was covered by most Tunisian media and several international networks. As getting on with life had become a political act, people massively got back to work the next day and the 6 brands recommenced traditional marketing. Others soon followed.

Live Rescue
We stranded 4 people at sea and challenged the nation to find them.
1. The live event
2. Direct Response: TV and Radio
3. Online simulator: liverescue.co.nz
4. The response
Challenge:
With little government funding, Coastguard New Zealand is forced to patrol the entire country's coast with just 75 boats. To get vital public support, we needed to demonstrate how difficult their task is.
Strategy:
We decided to let New Zealand experience how difficult it is to save a life at sea through the world's first live rescue event.
1. We stranded four people, a capsized boat and a GPS 20 nautical miles off the coast.
2. Real-time TV and radio ads thrust the public into the middle of the live search. Direct response spots drove viewers to liverescue.co.nz
3. Once online, users found themselves in a search plane simulator racing against the clock in real time. A GPS locator updated the position of the real capsized boat as it drifted.
4. After gaining an appreciation for how difficult it is to save a life at sea, users were asked to make a donation or to sign up as a Coastguard member.
Results:
The event attracted national media coverage and thousands of virtual rescuers took part. Only 1.8& of those who took part managed to find the boat, proving how difficult it is to save a life at sea. Most importantly, cisit to the Coastguard website were up by 20%, online donation were 9 times higher than 2009 and overall donations were up by 41%.

TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno
Philippines
TBWASantiago Mangada goes dialogue-free with its Manila Design Week 2010 TVC, a sharp contrast to its design terminology-heavy commercials last year, which referenced classic Filipino romance and action films. The new ad features a series of vignettes building on the MDW 2010 theme "Design Everyday".
"Working with Lyle Sacris as the director was an inspiring creative experience," writes art director CJ de Silva on her blog. "Lyle actually got some of his director friends to direct every vignette in this TVC! Each vignette was a unique experience... I'm proud that Ali and I came up with the idea behind this, but I'm prouder that we had a very supportive bosses and team mates who helped us turn an idea into this film/TV spot."

The mission, Red Bull Stratos, will take renowned athlete Felix Baumgartner to at least 120,000 feet above the earth, to the very edge of Space.
From there, he will attempt a stratospheric free fall jump - the longest in the history of man - and hopefully will become the first human to break the speed of sound with his own body.
This is a mission to overcome limits which have existed for almost fifty years, ever since the heroic achievement of the young US Air Force test pilot, Joe Kittinger, with his 1960 Excelsior mission.
Red Bull Stratos will attempt to make history and deliver valuable learnings for medical and scientific advancement that will aid the exploration of space in future years.

Zoom-in by Fotosociality is the first hide and seek you can play on Facebook. The playground is huge: a picture of London shot at the incredible 80 Gigapixels resolution that you can explore 360°. And thanks to the 21x optical zoom of the Galaxy Camera you can seek and tag hiders. And to make it more fun, you will have 8 superpowers to increase your seeking and hiding abilities. Zoom in gets the awesome social power of hide and seek game together with the photographic high technology. Both peculiarities of the new Samsung Galaxy Camera.

Cape Town
Ogilvy Cape Town
South Africa
Cape Town Tourism tapped Ogilvy Cape Town to come up with an online campaign that also promotes the unexpected side of Cape Town. The campaign promotes small communities, never-heard of places and unearthed gems that can't be found on Trip Advisor, Lonely Planet, Expedia, or even search giant Google.
And because not everyone can be sent to Cape Town, Facebook profiles were sent instead. Participants got a virtual, tailor-made Cape Town holiday that exposed them to all the unexpected places, and finally, a few lucky winners got to experience their Facebook profile's holiday for themselves.

Mercedes Benz
AMVBBDO
United States
Social networking sites and advertising collide in this campaign for the new A-Class, Mercedes Benz by AMV BBDO. Giving viewers the power to choose the kind of advertising they want, the TV campaign invited the audience to drive the story via Twitter, directed by Yann Demange.
A 60s TV ad appeared in the first commercial break of X Factor on Saturday, October 6 2012, and at the end of the ad, when the driver was faced with a dilemma, the audience were invited to 'drive' the next part of the story. Using Twitter, viewers were able to steer the action of each commercial by tweeting the hashtag assigned to the outcome they preferred. In the next break, a 40s ad played out the option chosen by the majority of the audience. At the end of that commercial the audience are faced with another tricky predicament and asked to 'drive'.

Cirque du Soleil is famous for their gravity-defying stunts and en grande productions. Google Creative Lab brings this sensual experience to the internet with Movi Kanti Revo.
Movi Kanti Revo comes from the Esperanto word for moving, singing, and dreaming.
This campaign also changes the way you browse the internet as you navigate through the journey by only gesturing in front of your computer camera, made possible by using the getUserMedia feature of WebRTC, a technology supported by web browsers such as Google Chrome.
Experience it first hand by going to www.movikantirevo.com

In this campaign by Ogilvy & Mather China, viewers are taken on a journey back in time to Dresden, Germany where the car factory is based. Get a glimpse of well-manicured lawns and richly colored rooms where Phaeton originated by going to this site: http://www.phaeton.cn/main_en.html?lang=en

United Kingdom
Sony has launched TweetSinger, an app supported by the Twitter hashtag #Tweetsinger, that turns people's tweets into songs. Warblers need to go along to the dedicated website, type in their tweet to set the mood, then convert those 140 characters in a TweetSong for social media sharing. The online experience was designed and built by LBi and allows users to select from one of five music genres (chill, funky, upbeat, swagger or rave).

BRIEF
Volkswagen decided to sponsor the Planeta Terra Festival (big music fest in São Paulo) as it was a great opportunity to bring their trendy car, the Fox, closer to city's youth. Then came our challenge: spread the Fox message beyond the event walls, reaching every youngster in São Paulo.
SOLUTION
First, we spread a series of tickets in different places within' São Paulo. Then, we launched an online platform where visitors could see the Google Maps of the entire city. The mechanic was simple: the more tweets #foxatplanetaterra, the closer the zoom on the map. The first one to get to the ticket, won it. This went on for four days straight.
RESULTS
The tweet #foxatplanetaterra became a TrendTopic in São Paulo in less than 2 hours, where it remained for the entire length of the competition.

Why are Nike Air Sole Units so amazing? Where did you think the Nike Air come from?
Well, Nike Air spokesperson, David Koechner, is now here to expose the secret behind
Nike Air in a short, sweet, entertaining and revealing video.
Apparently, Nike Air comes from air exhaled by Nike’s best athletes. Say, air exhaled by tennis star Maria Sharapova is collected in canisters,
then injected into the wonderful air soles for that extra powerful oomph.
The video features cameo from Nike’s best athletes from all trades including Nike SB’s P-Rod and pro-basketballer Brandon Roy.
Enjoy the video and appreciate Nike’s quirky sense of humor.

Puma
United Kingdom
This hotspot--which also serves us our Valentine's Day greetings--comes from Puma Football and its Puma Hardchorus. Football fans are directed to the site, where the copy reads, "They want to be in your arms. You want to be in the stands."

Indeed, what is a football fan to do should Valentine's Day fall on the same date as a match? Well, Puma Hardchorus is the solution. The choir, composed mostly of hooligan types, sings Savage Garden's "Truly, Madly, Deeply." (An Italian version exists, for those who prefer a more romantic accent.)
Email the video to your loved one and it will reassure her that you love her. "Almost as much as football."
Anyway, we at adobomagazine.com love you. Almost as much as advertising. Happy Valentine's Day!
Domino's Pizza
United States
Brave folks, these Domino's Pizza people. Faced with constant criticism over the quality of their product, they not only remade their pizza and sauce from scratch, they turned their ephiphany into the heart of their new internet campaign.
Starting with a website, they're releasing a series of digital films about "the true story of how Domino's listened to its harshest critics and made their best pizza ever," starring actual Domino's employees. The name of their campaign is The Pizza Turnaround.
So while this does not fit the usual Hotspot mold, we think this video, the first of the series, is plenty inspirational. In fact, we encourage Manila's advertisers--and dare we say our presidentiables?--to do something similar.
Hey, humble pie, when cooked well, tastes surprisingly good.

Magsama-sama na tayong mga kayumanggi
Ako, ikaw, ikaw, ako, walang makasarili
Hayaan nang dumaloy ang dugo ng mga bayani

Kapit kamay humawak ka wag kang bibitaw

Too hard to resist. That surely went through the minds of its creatives for this print ad.

It has only been five months, but for the business of golf, it has been five month too long. Players, fans and yes, TV and cable channels heaved a sigh of relief with Woods’ return to The Masters in Augusta. For SKY TV the return is welcome news, and happy advertising.
Tiger is Back. And if the first day in Augusta were a gauge to the world Number One golfer’s game, Woods never left.

One line. Hundreds of amazing shops along the way.

TransLink is Vancouver’s transit authority. Launched just prior to the 2010 Olympic Games, the Canada Line is the latest and greatest in the city’s public transportation.
Its construction, which lasted a few years, resulted in disruption to local business significantly.
The Translink: Canada Line series is part of a campaign focused on bringing traffic, and of course, the business, back to “The Line”.
The map is well-identified, and as a visual, easily recognized within its market.

Museu de Arte Sao Paolo (MASP)
DDB Brasil
Brazil
The Museu de Arte de Sao Paolo (MASP) wanted visitors to see what the museum had to offer. DDB Brasil created the series "Come, I wish to see you" entitled Rembrandt, Renoir, Van Gogh.
Letting art speak on art. Choosing three portraits, one each by Rembrandt, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Vincent Van Gogh, the print campaign brandished the copy to move with the portrait, with the tagline fluidly around the eye area of the portraits..
.jpg)
Rembrandt copy:
“I saw a photographer before photography was invented. I saw Rembrandt. I saw his brush strokes shaping me. I saw the beginning of a new era. I saw Baroque, I saw Impressionism, I saw Realism. I saw Europe. I saw the world. I saw Brazil. I saw a museum flourish. I saw the dream of a man become the biggest museum in Latin America. But, after seeing all that, there’s one thing I haven’t seen yet: you. Come. I wish to see you.”
.jpg)
Pierre-Auguste Renoir copy:
I saw paint turn into Impressionism. I saw Renoir painting me. I saw the disappointed banker who ordered me. I saw his disregard while throwing me into a dusty room. I saw years go by. I saw Europe finally acknowledge my value. I saw Brazil embrace me. I saw a new home. I saw that same home turn into the country’s most visited museum. But, having seen all that, there’s one thing I haven’t seen yet: you. Come. I wish to see you.
.jpg)
Vincent Van Gogh
I saw the failure of a genius. I saw the final years of Vincent Van Gogh. I saw Frenchmen underestimating me. I saw a master die in poverty. I saw a remorseful Europe. I saw millionaires shouting my name at auctions. I saw a new home. I saw adults teaching, I saw children learn. I saw a young building become Brazil’s most visited museum. But, having seen all this, there’s one thing I haven’t seen yet: you. Come. I wish to see you.

Woodland Park Zoo
Wong, Doody, Crandall, Wiener, Seattle
United States
Working with the creatives at Wong, Doody, Crandall, Wiener, this spot for the Woodland Park Zoo builds on the work Crush did last year for "Emily's Story", for the Children's Wish Foundation, For this spot, Crush used a lot of classic illustration as reference for their designs and colour palette, but then developed them into something very contemporary.
Crush designer Jullian Ablaza developed the look of the animals and with the help of artist and children’s book illustrator Ashley Barron brought each animal to life. Once the animals were created, Jullian designed the environments to be simple but to compliment the animals as the film flowed from scene to scene. Crush Senior Designer and animator Yoho Hang Yue put together the animatic and ultimately the animation. To keep the project streamlined and cost efficient, Yoho created the entire project in After Effects, adding textures to the final piece.
"We wanted a very tactile feel, which we would have done in camera if the budget and timeline allowed," said Gary Thomas, Creative Director, Crush. "The end result was very close to that and allowed for a lot of flexibility. The creative team at Wong, Doody, Crandall, Wiener were a dream to work with. They were totally on the same page and brought great insight to the work. We are incredibly pleased with the final result."

How do you get 800,000 SKY TV subscribers, who receive their bill in the post, to move with the times and sign up to email billing? You introduce them to Lloyd, the guy whose job it is to lick and seal the envelopes your SKY bill comes in. This first spot via DDB Group New Zealand and Damien Shatford of The Sweet Shop shows customers why they should get their SKY bill via email, not Lloyd.

Red Bull
Unknown
United Kingdom
Felix Baumgartner and Red Bull made headlines all over the world when Baumgartner made the jump from the stratosphere and back to the Earth. The advertising agency responsible for this is uinknown as of this writing one advertising executive, in an article from The Telegraph, guessed that the exposure could be worth 10 million pounds in the UK and as much as 100 million worldwide.
To put that in context, a 30-second ad slot in the US Super Bowl, which is the most prime time an ad can get, costs only 2.2 million pounds.
Red Bull, the caffeinated and sugar-y energy drink, definitely proved a point about its position in the adventure-seeking and risk-taking market.

Change Integrated, Warsaw, Poland
The TVC took advantage of the fact that most Poles watch TVP1 on channel 1 and TVP2 on channel 2--a Polish peculiarity dating back to Communist times when only these two TV channels were available. The two spots were screened simultaneously on the respective channels: one with the boot opened, the other with the boot closed. By changing the channels, viewers could experience the comfort of remotely controlled boot while the ad was being screened, just as if they were actually at the showroom.

Tourism Authority of Thailand
Leo Burnett / Arc Worldwide Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) kicked off a national campaign developed by Leo Burnett Thailand with the aim to motivate Thai citizens to resume domestic travelling - following the recent political turmoil in the country.
Titled “Hug Thailand”, the campaign will be running across TV and print, reaching an estimated 40 million people across 76 provinces in Thailand.
Speaking about the concept behind the campaign, Keeratie Chaimoungkalo, Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett Thailand said, “The recent unrest has left grievances and pain in the hearts of Thai citizens. The idea is that, whatever that has happened, Thailand is always there to ‘comfort’ us and it is only us that can ‘comfort’ the country.”
Elaborating on the creative idea, Keeratie continued,” We used the act of ‘hugging’ as a metaphor of encouragement for Thais to cherish and heal the country through resuming their domestic travels. The genuine, relaxing tone and manner of the campaign is intended to put smiles back on people’s faces.”
The 60-second TV spot captured the essence of the beauty of Thailand, combined it with a lighthearted voice over encouraging people to ‘hug’ these elements and Thailand, as well as let Thailand ‘hug’ you.
Currently, domestic tourism accounts for around 40 percent of the total tourism revenue for Thailand.

Three weeks to go before the World Cup, and Nike proves it is the brand to beat when it comes to sports advertising. Upstaging Sony and its 3D broadcast is a global campaign with a 3-minute film as its flagship ad. It's as much as story about media and brand engagement, as it is about football. Enjoy.
In its website, Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam writes:
"The mood of a nation. The decline of a would-be hero. Fame. Infamy. The possible futures of the world’s top footballers are played out in epic fashion. All hang in the balance. Only the moments on the pitch will decide what really happens. And the margins for error could not be more narrow. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 Grams) and featuring the incredibly unique music of Dutch rockers, Focus, the film shows how one moment on the pitch can be the catalyst for ripple effects felt around the world."

Last week, Nike unveiled a new commercial featuring Tiger Woods and the voice of his deceased father, Earl Woods, using recordings that appear as though he is addressing his son about his recent sex scandal.
At the end of the spot, the senior Wood's voice asks, "Did you learn anything?"
In a short time, the ad has become controversial, and consequently, viral. Finding the original video of this ad on YouTube is nearly impossible, because it has spawned so many parodies. People, it seems, do not like this ad at all.
However, Nike continues to stand by its man. In a statement, the advertiser said, "We support Tiger and his family. As he returns to competitive golf, the ad addresses his time away from the game using the powerful words of his father."

On the heels of its Cannes Lions award-winning predecessor, “Carousel”, this campaign produced by Ridley Scott Associates for Philips Television pushes one idea: There are millions of ways to tell a story. There is only one way to watch one.
What may appear bereft of theme is collection of snippets from five films, with the same one-liners. Despite the films completely alien from each other, one seminal emotion or thought is elicited.
The message is simple. The only way to enjoy movies at home, no matter what type movie: watch it on a Philips Flat Screen TV.

There must be something about VW that inspires poetry. “Night Drive”, the ad for VW Golf, calls on sublime soundtrack: lulling tinkling behind the masterful reading of “Under Milk Wood”. Written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, read by no other than the late Sir Richard Burton in 1954, another Welsh.
“Night Drive” reportedly inspired the carmakers to initiate night-time test drive program.

And all the people of the lulled and dumbfound town are sleeping now.
Hush, the babies are sleeping, the farmers, the fishers, the tradesmen and pensioners, cobbler, schoolteacher, postman and publican, the undertaker and the fancy woman, drunkard, dressmaker, preacher, policeman, the webfoot cocklewomen and the tidy wives. Young girls lie bedded soft or glide in their dreams, with rings and trousseaux, bridesmaided by glow-worms down the aisles of the organ-playing wood.
You can hear the dew falling, and the hushed town breathing.

Citroën's new campaign for its DS-3 hatchback stars both the late John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe.
But it's Lennon's spot that has Beatles fans in an uproar. The TV spot shows an existing interview of Lennon asking, "Why all this nostalgia? Start something new. Live your life now."
After he makes his point, the car and tagline comes on: “Anti Retro.”
Lennon fans decried the use of the most revered of Beatles as tasteless and unnecessary.
But on Twitter, Lennon's son Sean defended mother Yoko Ono's decision to allow the use of his father's image:
"Look, TV ad was not for money. It's just hard to find new ways to keep Dad in the new world. Not many things as effective as TV.
"Having just seen the ad I realise why people are mad. But intention was not financial, was simply wanting to keep him out there in the world."

Using animation, the BBC Winter Olympics “Inuit” is a classic story of heroism, craft and accomplishment.
Ad agency RKCR came up with the concept, with no less than pop music trendsetter-creator Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn behind the idea. (Hewlett and Albarn created the animation music of Gorillaz.) The ad was then developed by Marc Craste of Studio AKA, and produced by Red Bee Media.
The BBC uses the 40-second ad as the promotions theme in the title sequences of its Olympics coverage. The Inuit campaign includes radio and online advertising.

Why does Google, the online empire that rewrites the rules on advertising, need to advertise on Super Bowl Sunday?
"Parisian Love", its TV ad which aired one time only during Super Bowl XLIV, is the story of a guy who finds school, home, girl, love, family and happiness ever after after a visit to Google.
The search giant earns billions from online advertising and owns 70 percent of the search market. Clearly, it doesn't need to promote itself and until now was indifferent to Microsoft's and Yahoo's tens of millions of dollars on television and print adspend.
But considering the hoopla over Google's plan to scan the world’s books and its threat to stop censoring search results in China, perhaps it was time for some good PR.
Moreover, Super Bowl XLIV boasted a global audience of one billion versus the ad's 1.2 million hits on YouTube (prior to Super Bowl). In fact, since yesterday's airing, the ad recorded another 800,000 or so views on YouTube. So the investment was probably worth it.
It costs around US$3 million per 30-second spot to air an ad on the Super Bowl But given the simple narrative, the lack of cast, or even production crew, the production cost was probably a small fraction of one of Dorito's homemade movies.
Google didn't even have to make “Parisian Love” from scratch. It has been on YouTube since November 2009.
“We didn’t set out to do a Super Bowl ad, or even a TV ad for search,” Google CEO Eric Schmidt blogged. "Our goal was simply to create a series of short online videos about our products and our users, and how they interact. But we liked this video so much, and it's had such a positive reaction on YouTube, that we decided to share it with a wider audience."

Campaigns & Grey Philippines
Philippines
What is the objective of the campaign?
The campaign aims to attract lapsed and new users by re-introducing the new and improved Tokyo Tokyo Pork Tonkatsu now served with Fuji Apple Sauce.
What is the creative thinking behind the strategy?
Inspired by the trademark Japanese irreverent slapstick humor, the spot presents the new and improved Pork Tonkatsu with Fuji Apple Sauce in a highly entertaining stunt typical of a Japanese game show to create an image for Tokyo Tokyo as a fun and exciting place for quick Japanese food. The target consumers’ favourable reception towards J-POP culture was employed to build a distinct, young and fun brand character for Tokyo Tokyo.
Which media channels is it using (TVC, print, online, etc)?
TVC & merchandising
How does the new campaign help the brand stand out from its competition?
Heavily outspent in the Quick Service Restaurant category, Tokyo Tokyo aims to cut through the clutter to quickly build awareness and establish its unique position as the leading Japanese fast food chain. The use of a “staged” Japanese skit makes it stand out amongst other fast food brands in the market, which usually makes use of slice-of-life vignettes.

What is the objective of the campaign?
The campaign aims to strengthen Nissin’s leadership position in the seafood noodles category. The spot also aims to underscore its authentic seafood flavor as the reason for consumer preference.
What is the creative thinking behind the strategy?
The Japanese authenticity is crucial, for consumers to feel and think that when it comes to seafood, Nissin is the real No. 1 seafood noodle. The spirit we want to capture is that of early Japan. It must be authentic Japanese down to the last detail from the art style to the clothing and music. Simple, tranquil, fluid. Nothing flashy.
Which media channels is it using (TVC, print, online, etc)?
TVC & merchandising
How does the new campaign help the brand stand out from its competition?
Among its local competitors, only Nissin can boast of its Japanese heritage. ‘Japanese’ translates to high quality. Furthermore, its animation makes it stand out amongst other noodle brands in the market, which usually makes use of slice-of-life vignettes.
