MANILA – The International Association of Business Communicators Philippines (IABC Philippines) has launched the search for the best business communication programs via The Philippine Quill Awards 2014 for professionals and The Philippine Student Quill Awards 2014 for college students.

On September 29, 2014, IABC Philippines will host workshops on how to prepare winning Quill entries at the Meralco Theatre Lounge and Meralco Substation, in Meralco Center, Ortigas.

Students who want to submit entries for the Philippine Student Quill Awards can attend the morning session while the afternoon is reserved for professionals and corporate entities.

Those interested can register by contacting the IABC Philippines Secretariat at studentquill@iabc.com.ph (for students) or philippinequill@iabc.com.ph, (for professional divisions) or contact tel. no. 756-0441 and telefax 756-0424.

There are four divisions in the divisions in the Philippine Quill Awards, namely Communication Research Management, Communication Management, Communication Skills, and Communication Education and Training.  In every division, a Top Award will  be conferred on the entry with the highest score earned from the distinguished board of judges.

The 13th edition of the Philippine Quill Awards has expanded to 43 categories, with Change Management as the new addition. For ease and efficiency of submitting entries, IABC Philippines has set up an online facility that will allow entrants to upload their entries, except for the Communication Skills division of the Philippine Quill and the Publications division for the Philippine Student Quill.

The entrant organization that wins the most number of awards will be declared Company of the Year, Agency of the Year, and School of the Year.

IABC PH secretary Belle Tiongco (SVP for Marketing Services of Pru Like UK and IABC Philippines Corporate Secretary), chair of this year’s awards said, “The Quill is designed to transcend today’s trends in communication. We do not discriminate on size or longevity of a company; rather, our stringent judging process rewards those who are passionate enough to challenge themselves in meeting IABC’s global standards.”

IABC PH trustee Richard Arboleda, chair of the Philippine Student Quill said, “For students, the Philippine Student Quill is an apprenticeship to learn from the more seasoned and expert judges of IABC.”

In 2013, Smart Communications Inc.’s “Jump In” campaign, Sanserif Inc.’s “Adobo Magazine: Project Reinvention,” and University of Santo Tomas’s “Balik USTe” campaign bagged the Top Awards at the Philippine Quill and Philippine Student Quill Awards 2013.  Manila Electric Co. was named Company of the Year, edging Smart Communications, Inc.
