Scandinavian furniture chain Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd (IKEA), Swedish ambassador to the Philippines Harald Fries confirms, is arriving in the country.

Fries noted in a media roundtable held on the occasion of the 70th year of Sweden-Philippine diplomatic relations how IKEA's arrival in the country will provide more job opportunities and attract foreign investments to the Philippines.

Founded in Sweden in 1943 by then-17-year-old Ingvar Kamprad, the IKEA Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, has 340 stores in 28 countries worldwide.

Formerly known by its full initials, IKEA's business goal is to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at affordable prices.
