Lakihan Mo Logo’s debut single ‘May Opening Ba D’yan?’ tops Spotify’s PH Viral 50

MANILA – Only after a week it was launched on January 20, May Opening Ba D’yan?, Lakihan Mo Logo’s debut single, has topped Spotify’s Philippines Viral 50 charts.

The song, written by JP Cuison, creative director at Publicis JimenezBasic and performed with Apol Sta. Maria, creative director at Dentsu JaymeSyfu from the Advertising Band of the Philippines, is about a frustrated employee trying to look for opportunities outside his current company, letting out a barrage of reasons why: from being unhappy at work, and endless OT (overtime), to being disgusted with kiss ass colleagues and his clunky, old computer.

May Opening Ba D’yan? has become a famous hashtag to promote and look for job openings around social media and in real life.

Though it was written and sung by advertising people, the song resonates well with people from different industries who feel like they’re in a place where they’re no longer growing, or working with people whose style and principles are not aligned with theirs.

May Opening Ba D’yan? is a part of Lakihan Mo Logo’s first album produced by Hit Productions and distributed by Warner Music Philippines.

Lakihan Mo Logo is a group of independent bands whose members work in various advertising agencies by day. They’ve held series of gigs and performed in industry events including adobo Nights, Mad About Awards, Ad Summit, Kidlat Awards and Boomerangs.

“The Lakihan Mo Logo album is our first foray into producing a collection of original music from the different bands and artists that have performed in our gigs,” shared Herbert Hernandez, Y&R Executive Creative Director and Founder of Lakihan Mo Logo. Hernandez is also a guitarist for Moonstar88 and 6cyclemind. “These are agency people who want to express another aspect of their creativity through music.”

Lakihan Mo Logo’s next single will be out on February 17.
