PARIS, FRANCE – The Grand Prix is awarded to Burger Kings’ “Moldy Whopper” by Publicis Romania, Publicis Spain, INGO, and David. Gold winners include Google AI / Canadian Down Syndrome Society’s “Project Understood” by FCB; Lacoste’s “Crocodile inside” by BETC, SIGNS’ “SIGNS” by McCANN Worldgroup Germany; LUX’s “The Soap with a Lump” by Wunderman Thompson; Mumbai Police’s “The Punishing Signal” by FCB India; K’s Galleries’ “Eva.Stories” by Leo Burnett Israel; Son de Miel’s “Last Straw” by Isobar México; Apotek Hjärtat’s “A Hard Pill To Swallow” by Åkestam Holst NoA; Help for Heroes’ “40,000 Strong” by McCann London; Tinder’s “Swipe Night” by 72andSunny Los Angeles; and March For Our Lives’ “Generation Lockdown” by McCann New York.

There are 22 countries featured on the winners list, including Japan, Iran, Peru, Australia, Canada, Germany and the USA. American agencies lead with a total of 22 winning works followed by India with 11 and the UK with 5.

About the Gerety Awards

Named for Frances Gerety, the copywriter who in 1948 coined the slogan “A diamond is forever” The Gerety Awards marks the first time that a jury has been brought together to select the best in advertising — all advertising, not just advertising made for women — through the female lens. Studies show that women make up to 80% of all purchasing decisions globally, so it creates a benchmark that is relevant to the market reality, all while redefining the standard to which advertising has traditionally been held. Brands from a range of industries and persuasions have been rewarded and are a testament to the discernment of a diverse and qualitative jury.

Unique in its judging sessions held around the world, international executive juries determine a short-list of finalists. Each year different cities are chosen to host these judging sessions. To date, executive judging sessions have been held in London, New York, Paris, Hamburg, São Paulo, Beirut, Mumbai, Sydney, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Bangkok, Istanbul, Helsinki, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Madrid and Johannesburg.

Winners are determined based on scores achieved across the board, regardless of the product advertised or medium submitted. This ensures that only the very best work is awarded by the Gerety jury of agency and brand leaders, as well as showing clients and interested parties that the winning entries resonate with the world’s most powerful consumers.
