Awards: IMMAP’s Digital Young Creative Competition attracts a record of 45 teams

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) announced that its Digital Young Creative Competition, which is open to young digital creatives aged 31 years old and below from different companies, has a total of 45 teams vying for the top spot. This year’s competing teams come from 23 agencies in total. The winning team of the local competition will represent the Philippines at the 2022 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Young Lions competition.

This year’s IMMAP Digital Young Creative Competition is presented by Unilab. The winners will be announced on October 15 during the Boomerang Awards.

Teams were briefed about the challenge for one of Unilab’s leading brands and were given 24 hours to create a campaign with digital at the core. The competing digital young creatives are social media managers, creative technologists, UX designers, digital producers, digital designers, art directors, and copywriters from a total of 23 agencies.

Competing teams came from CBR, Cheil Philippines, DDB MNL, Dentsu Jayme Syfu, Dentsu One, EON, Evident, Grey Worldwide, Havas Ortega, BBDO, IXM, Leo Burnett, McCann WorldGroup, Mullenlowe/Treyna, Nuworks, Octopus & Whale, Ogilvy & Mather, PC&V Communications, Propel Manila, TOG Integrated, Wunderman Thompson, U Studio, and Publicis Jimenez Basic.

“We are very delighted to have gathered 45 teams, a record number in the history of IMMAP DYC”, says Gara Santos-Ontiveros, chair of IMMAP’s education committee.

“The exposure in Cannes, while competing against the best young creatives in the world is a rare experience for the winning team from the Philippines,” added Rudy Villar, from the IMMAP Education Committee.

The Philippines has so far won a bronze in the 2018 edition of the competition courtesy of Lance Francisco and Zach Lim who were then representing Wunderman Thompson.
