NEW YORK, USA — The ADVERTISING Club of New York’s International ANDY Awards, the first advertising award show of the season, has announced regional competitions. In an effort to break barriers that exist around cultural context, each region will have small Juries representative of the creative excellence in the area.
Will Alexander, Founder and Executive Producer of Heckler has been invited to CHAIR the APAC region. The award submissions are free to enter and the winner of each region will be shortlisted for the main global competition. The purpose of hosting regional competitions is to ensure the best work is represented in each region. Regions include Africa, APAC, Greater China, Europe, LATAM, and MENA.
“Our hope is that more people have their work represented in the Show. We wanted to eliminate barriers that may deter some agencies to submit work – whether that be cost to compete or missed cultural context,” said Gina Grillo, President & CEO of The ADVERTISING Club of New York and The International ANDY Awards.
Over the last five years, the ANDYs have created sustainable change by rebuilding itself as an award show that believes that the only way forward is through diversity of thought, more representation at the table, and less prescriptive categorisations, awarding work that is courageous in its message regardless of medium.
“APAC is one of the most culturally diverse and rapidly growing regions in the world. We are currently experiencing a transformation in the way clients, agencies, and production companies work. We have seen an explosion of independent creative agencies and tech start-ups. The Andy’s provides an amazing platform for these innovative companies to showcase their work and compete on the global stage.”
The Andy Awards APAC would officially like to invite all agencies to submit their best work.
Please note, the deadline for submission is December 31st, 2021 and the “Best of Regions’ will be announced on January 17th 2022.
