TBWA\Media Arts Lab and Cheil Pengtai Beijing among the many Clio Awards winners from Asia this year

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Every year, the Clio Awards recognizes innovative work that elevates the global creative industry. Recently, the awards program announced this year’s batch of entries that deserve the spotlight. While the Grand Winners won’t be announced until the Clio Awards Ceremony next week on April 25, 2023, the Clios has already released the list of the esteemed agencies that secured metal wins.

The Comeback – Shot On iPhone, a campaign film by TBWA\Media Arts Lab Shanghai for Apple, is one of the works that made a stellar showing at the Clios. The short film chronicles the epic quest of a filmmaker, his father, and fellow residents to bring fame and recognition back to their village which is quickly getting forgotten by the world. And how did they do it? By creating an out-of-this-world movie that the world can’t ignore. This 23-minute, directed by Zhang Meng, received a total of seven metals — one Gold, four Silver, and two Bronze — at the Clios this year.

Also taking a lead with six metals so far is “Quest For Dyslexia” with one Gold, two Silver, and Three Bronze. Samsung and Cheil Pengtai Beijing redesigned quests in China’s biggest adventure game of the year, Young Warrior. Working with one of the country’s biggest developers, this campaign addressed the fact that dyslexics were having a hard time reading the shapes of Chinese characters by turning the game into an easily accessible and fun early detection tool for young kids that could potentially have dyslexia.
