Internet and mobile group holds ‘The Main Event’

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 27, 2012 – Get ready for an interesting night of heated thought bouts as The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) is set to duel at the third IMMAP Open Mic Night entitled ‘The Main Event’ at Time in Manila, 7840 Makati Avenue on 28 September 2012, 6PM.

‘The Main Event’ is the third serving of the much awaited, highly acclaimed Open Mic Night Series that IMMAPhas pioneered since 2011. Its two predecessors, IMMAP 20×20 powered by Pecha-Kucha.org and IMMAP Goods Worth Spreading A Fishbowl Evening, were massively successful with more than 300 people attending, engaging, tweeting and networking around topics that matter to the digital, advertising, media, marketing communities. Previous Open Mics saw the likes of Jim Paredes, Pie Alvarez, Noemi Dado, Jay Jaboneta, Chay Saputil-Mondejar, Carlo Ople, artists Nasser Lubay and Niccolo Cosme leading discussions across a wide array of topics ranging from the serious to the fun, relevant, casual and sometimes even to out of this world conversations the community truly enjoyed.

Asked what the IMMAP Open Mic Night series is about, Pao Peña, IMMAP’s Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at Leo Burnett Group, said “IMMAP seeks to provide people from the digital community and the society at large a platform where they may share their personal stories, experiences, insights and ideas through which other people attending could also learn beyond what they would in traditional conferences. Part of the IMMAP OMN DNA is to provide avenues of learning and exchange and networking against a backdrop of fun, casual, and meaningful fellowship amongst both members and non-members of IMMAP. After all, we are but one huge industry of marketing practitioners.”

True to its form, the IMMAP Open Mic Night series empowers both thought leaders and anyone who has an opinion, story, experience, and ideas to share. It is a platform where anyone can engage with the community at large on topics that matter to the industry and to people. One need not be a C-level executive to be invited to speak; one only needs the will to share through wit, engaging conversations, and fun, high-impact storytelling to be invited to speak.

Nestle digital marketer Ricky Baizas and PR and digital marketing consultant Marga Deona are hosts for the 3rd IMMAP Open Mic Night.
