MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Cultural Center of the Philippines joins the celebration of Museums and Galleries Month this October 2019, and invites the public to attend the CCP’s various activities and visit its exhibitions.
Public programs are as follows:
Arts Online featuring Marc Cosico on October 9 (2-4pm) at the CCP Bulwagang Carlos V. Francisco (Little Theater Lobby). This presentation discusses the high school shadowplay program of the Philippine High School for the Arts, where Cosico is a professor of visual arts. It also discusses how his current exhibition at the CCP, the Carillo Cart Project, was conceived. It will end with a workshop on making simple puppets using paper cutouts. Admission is free.
Launch of QRated: The CCP DIY tour on October 15 (12nn) at the Bulwagang Carlos V. Francisco (Little Theater Lobby). QRated is a public guided tour aided by QR code (quick response code) captions. This tour includes artworks from the CCP Visual Arts Collection on permanent display, exhibition spaces, performance venues, architectural details and other noteworthy spaces and facilities in the CCP Main Theater Building. QRated will allow the CCP audience to explore the wonders of the Center through their smartphones and enjoy instant access to the CCP’s rich content.

Poster Printing Workshop with HOCUS on October 17 (1-4pm) at the CCP Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery). Learn how to make screenprinted posters! This 3-hour workshop will cover the process of making photographic stencils and printing on paper. Topics to be discussed include sourcing of equipment and suppliers, preparation of artwork/equipment, photo transfer of artwork to screen and printing techniques. Workshop fee is Php2500 inclusive of materials.
Textile printing workshop with HOCUS on October 18 (1-4pm) at the Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery). Learn how to screenprint on textile! Francisco (Little Theater Lobby); Poklong Anading and Neil Fettling (Until November 3, 2019) at the Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery), Pasilyo Victorio Edades (4F Hallway Gallery), and 4th Floor Atrium.
