“Inuit” stars in BBC Winter Olympics ad

Using animation, the BBC Winter Olympics “Inuit” is a classic story of heroism, craft and accomplishment.

Ad agency RKCR came up with the concept, with no less than pop music trendsetter-creator Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn behind the idea. (Hewlett and Albarn created the animation music of Gorillaz.)  The ad was then developed by Marc Craste of Studio AKA, and produced by Red Bee Media.

The BBC uses the 40-second ad as the promotions theme in the title sequences of its 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics coverage.  The Inuit campaign includes radio and online advertising.
