One Club Creative boot camp travels to Europe for the first time

GLOBAL – UNITED KINGDOM, OCTOBER 19, 2012 – For the first time The One Club’s Creative Boot Camp will be traveling in November to Europe, bringing together some of the top advertising creatives, educators and university/college students in the U.K. for its award winning workshop. Creative Boot Camp London will be held November 15-18, 2012 at the London College of Communications (LCC).

Created by The One Club to foster and cultivate a diverse group of multicultural talent for the creative advertising industry, Creative Boot Camp workshops offer advertising and design students an opportunity to conceptualize and build an ad campaign from the ground up for a real client. Over 100 students already have registered for the London workshop, which will be held November 15-18, 2012 on the LCC campus located at Elephant & Castle, London SE1 6SB.

“Building on the success of our Creative Boot Camps throughout the U.S., we’re excited to be taking the workshops international for the first time and for the opportunity to work with multicultural students in in London,” said Tiffany Edwards, education and diversity director at The One Club. “The goal of The One Club program is to inspire minority students, introduce them to new opportunities in the world of advertising and, hopefully, lead them on their path to creative internships and jobs after graduation.”

Creative Boot Camp is the recipient of the prestigious Mosaic Award, the Multi-ethnic Student Program from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) in 2011. Since its inception in 2010, the four-day workshop has helped kick start the advertising careers of numerous graduating students, with internships and job offers at such agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, DraftFCB, Ogilvy and Y&R.

In the U.S. Creative Boot Camp workshops return in November to Atlanta and to Los Angeles, New York and Chicago in the first quarter of 2013.

In addition to Creative Boot Camp, The One Club’s Education and Diversity Department offers several programs throughout the year including the Young Ones Competition, the Annual Student Exhibition, the Where Are All the Black People? conference and career fair and seasonal Portfolio Reviews.  The programs are designed to connect leading industry creatives with aspiring students and young professionals for invaluable one-on-one critiques, internships and creative entry-level positions.
