AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – Thompson Spencer is bringing home Gold for Australia/New Zealand Social Media Agency of the Year, and Bronze for Australia/New Zealand Influencer Marketing Agency of the Year from Campaign’s Agency of the Year Awards held in Singapore on the 9th of December. The agency was also shortlisted for Australia/New Zealand Independent Agency of the Year.
With only one Gold awarded per category in ANZ this year, the result confirms Thompson Spencer as the #1 Social Media Agency across New Zealand and Australia for 2025, and comes just over a week after the agency was crowned Aotearoa New Zealand Agency of the Year at the B&T Awards in Sydney.
Co-founders Melanie Spencer and Wendy Thompson attended the presentation at the Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore, joining a room celebrating Asia-Pacific’s most outstanding creative, media and marketing businesses.

“This international recognition is huge, and I can’t imagine a higher high for 2025 to end on,” said Melanie Spencer, Group CEO and co-founder of Thompson Spencer.
“Taking Gold for Social Media Agency of the Year and a podium finish for Influencer Marketing Agency of the Year is a powerful endorsement of the way we continue to evolve our full-funnel offering to build an agency for the future – looking ahead to what can be, rather than back at how things were.
“We’re now running campaigns in 75+ countries and growing our clients from Marlborough to the Middle East – proof that a fast, brave New Zealand independent can scale and succeed on a global stage. I wish we could’ve had our entire team and all our wonderful clients with us in Singapore to share in such an exceptionally proud moment that is about everything we’ve achieved together,” Melanie added.
Thompson Spencer’s 2025 entry reflected a year of exceptional growth and advancement, including merging with performance powerhouse, Reason, and the opening of offices in Melbourne and Sydney. The agency’s campaign portfolio featured work with Auckland Transport, Honda, Noel Leeming, Ease Up, Musashi, Mitre 10 and Ecostore, delivering human-centric, socially-led ideas designed to take centre stage.
The win is especially meaningful for Wendy Thompson, who saw the transformative potential in social media and the power of online communities from the start, founding Socialites – one of NZ’s first social media agencies – 15 years ago.
The agency’s expanding expertise across strategy, creative, technology, performance, social and production has driven standout results for existing clients, significant new wins, and an internal culture where people thrive.
