The largest regional ad awards in Asia-Pacific will also host 3,647 entries competing in 14 categories – the biggest yet in Spikes Asia’s 25-year history. “With a record number of attendees this year, Spikes Asia is set to be a great event, with much to learn and discuss,” noted Savage, co-chairman of the festival.

This year’s Spikes also saw the inauguration of the PR and Mobile categories. “We look forward to welcoming a wider spectrum of industry professionals to Spikes Asia. We will wait with great anticipation for their verdict on the work that they will judge,” said Phillip Thomas, Spikes Asia’s CEO.

Live seminar translations will also be implemented this year, making Spikes Asia 2011 more comprehensible to a wider range of audiences. Participants can hear live translations of the talks not just in English, but also in Chinese, Nihonggo and Korean, through headsets provided in the festival hall.

Following the thrill of earning a Spike or the flash of creativity after learning from the best, delegates can loosen up and enjoy Suntec, Singapore and what it has to offer. JWT, Lowe Asia Pacific, McCann Worldgroup (Singapore), Ogilvy & Mather (Singapore), and Starcom MediaVest will throw parties, open to all delegates of this year’s celebrations. Hopping from one party to another, this is a perfect opportunity to mingle with contemporaries from around the globe. This is apart from Spikes Asia Networking Reception, happening on the opening day. This is a chance for delegates to warm up for the busy festival and get to know new friends or catch up with old ones – or even meet future clients or bosses.

In the end, though, everyone would hold tight and stay tuned for the most exciting news of all: who will get a new Spike up their trophy walls?
