2012 IPA Best of Health Awards now open for entries

GLOBAL – UNITED KINGDOM, FEBRUARY 3, 2012 – The 2012 IPA Best of Health Awards, recognized as the top creative advertising awards by healthcare agencies, is officially open and will be accepting entries from around the world until April 2.

This year, the competition introduces three new categories, alongside the Press, Out of Home, Radio, Film, Direct Marketing, Mixed Media, Digital, and International categories.

The Integrated Idea category looks at the entrants’ innovation of solutions to a communication brief through insight into choice of channel(s) for digital platforms, experiential, social media, and the like. Local Innovation searches for creative promotion by an agency team (covering creative, account, planning, production and management) to promote a global idea in a local market. The Young Talent Award, on the other hand, is open for nominations from member agencies only; the nominees will be contacted to enter during the first weeks of February.

These three new awards will be judged by an independent judging panel, made up of: convenor of judges: Harry Armfield of Open Health; chairman of judges: Justin Tindall, group executive creative director of Leo Burnett; international judge: Jeremy Perott, worldwide creative director of McCann Healthcare Worldwide; and members of the IPA Council that have international business outside the healthcare sector, including Jane Asscher, chairman and partner of 23red.

Meanwhile, the other entries will be judged by the following panel of healthcare professionals, overseen by the awards convenor and chairman of judges: Oliver Caporn, creative director of ICC Lowe London; Martin Gaul, creative director of Nitrogen; Paul McCarthy, senior copywriter of Junction 11; Shaheed Peera, creative director of Publicis Life Brands; Jeremy Perrott, worldwide creative director of McCann Healthcare Worldwide; Russell Speed, creative director of TBWAPaling Walters; Mike Walker, creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare; and Lee Williams, creative director of Euro RSCG Life.

“I am delighted to be chairman of judges for this year’s Best of Health Awards. Not only do they provide the perfect opportunity to showcase the very best in healthcare creativity but with the addition of these three new categories, they will prove that this sector is also innovative, integrated and that it has a wealth of young talent equipped to secure its future growth,” said Tindall.

The 2012 Ceremony will take place on June 28 at Vinopolis. For more information about the Ceremony or entering the Awards, visit www.ipabestofhealthawards.co.uk.
