MANILA, JUNE 3, 2013 – From being just a regular leisure of entertainment, Lakihan Mo Logo, in its 22nd show, has come out across its status quo as professionals from the advertising industry initiated it this time as a concert-for-a-cause, in the hopes of raising funds for the medical aid of Cora Dulay, a finance employee of JWT Manila, May 30, at the Live Band Café, A.Venue, Makati.
Dulay, undergoing with a breast cancer, has unknowingly called the swift attention of people in the ad industry with friends from agencies namely JWT, Y&R, BBDO Guerrero, Dentsu, Dm9JaymeSyfu, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, Havas Media and Draftfcb supporting her recovery through the means of the band concert.
Being also a musician himself, Y&R creative director/head organizer Herbert Hernandez invited celebrity bands to participate in the concert such as Kamikazee, Sandwich, and Pedicab, among others, as well as the fashion designer-turned-musician, Kate Turralba. Other entertainment personalities like Ely Buendia, Sab Magalona, and Ramon Bautista, who co-hosted the event, have also supported its cause.
Fired-off by a band from Dentsu and concluded by the dubbed “Incubus” band from BBDO, agency bands apparently capped the event for the industry.
“Sobrang happy, maraming nag-support especially the friends of Ms. Cora Dulay, and ‘yung mga di nakakakilala sa kanya, they just want to play and enjoy,” said Herandez, when asked on his insights about the concert.
“The beauty in this event is that it’s an outlet, a form of expression, sa advertising medyo commercial, pero ito kasi tugtog lang, it’s music, and we can help the others through it” he furthered.
