Cignal’s ‘TV-to-Go’ mobile service launched

MANILA, AUGUST 2,2013-The new service of Cignal allows their subscribers to watch live streaming of channels on their mobile phones.  

The satellite cable TV provider offers the 13 premium channels that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and installed on the user’s own Android phones and tablets. The service is now called ‘TV-to-Go’ including the channels such as Aksyon TV, TV5, Weather Information Network (WIN), Teleasia Filipino, Colours, Hyper, Asian Food Channel and Channel News Asia. These channels are available in standard definition. Outdoor Channel, CNN, Fashion TV, Food Network, and Cartoon Network are available in high definition.

During last month’s Broadcast Asia 2013 Conference in Singapore, it was mentioned that the TV-to-Go service would become a “worldwide trend in multimedia viewing”. Cignal’s new service is a partnership with PLDT, as it requires either a PLDT or Smart Internet connection to be able to use it.

The interested customers must be subscribed to any Cignal postpaid plan worth 430php and above and to any Smart postpaid plan. The free live streaming of channels of TV-to-Go service is only available until August 31 for the beta-testing period.

Cignal is the Philippine’s premier DTH satellite provider that was launched in 2009 with 500,000 subscribers. , Cignal broadcasts to households and commercial venues nationwide using Direct Broadcast Satellite technology.  It transmits 70 channels, which has free-to-air, SD, and HD. The cable is owned and operated by MediaScape Inc., a subsidiary of MediaQuest Holdings.
