‘Late Night’s King of Cool’ slated to speak at Cannes Lions 2013

GLOBAL – FRANCE, MARCH 11, 2012 – Barely recovering from the recent unveiling of the first wave of speakers lined up for the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2013, the Festival’s organizers have released the second wave of world-class speakers. Among this group is “Late Night’s King of Cool”, as dubbed by Entertainment Weekly, Conan O’Brien.

The award-winning late night king of comedy will be bringing his signature wit and style on June 16-22, 2013.

O’Brien’s career spans from the time he began on "Saturday Night Live" to "Late Night", to his new talk show "CONAN". His longest stint was for Late Night (1993-2009) where he combined his talents as writer, performer and host, which earned the show “the most consistently funny and original show on late night”, as dubbed by The Boston Globe.

During his years at "Late Night", Conan and his team were consistently honored with Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy-Variety Series and, in 2007, the Late Night writing team won their first Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series after ten years of nominations. Conan and the "Late Night" writing staff also won six Writer’s Guild Awards for Best Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series, including two consecutive wins in 2002 and 2003 and 12 nominations overall.

After the Emmy’s, O’Brien handed over the reins of "Late Night" to Jimmy Fallon, taking over hosting duties for "The Tonight Show" from Jay Leno. His current project is a talk show titled “CONAN”.

The other speakers included in the second wave include: Daniel Lamarre, David Rowan, James Kirkham, Jose Miguel Sokoloff, Alfredo Gangotena, Anderson Cooper, Jeff Bewkes, Keith Weed, Nick Law and Paul Kemp-Robertson.
