AKQA promotes Sam Kelly to business development and marketing head

LONDON – October 17, 2013 – AKQA has promoted Sam Kelly to head of business development and marketing, reporting directly to CEO and founder Ajaz Ahmed.

 
In his new role, Kelly will lead the company’s global marketing and business development teams in creating new opportunities for client collaborations, and introducing new services such as Business Invention, Data Science, and Social.
 
Kelly joined AKQA in 2008 as business development manager from WPP-owned VML (formerly GT) where he led new business, marketing and PR strategy. Since then he has been instrumental in driving AKQA’s partnership with clients across Europe.
 
Commenting on his appointment, Ahmed said: “Sam has an unmatched record for client partnership. His understanding of our values and the aspirations of our clients is second to none. We are delighted he has accepted the new role working with me and our leadership team, to oversee initiatives that create new opportunities and collaborations.”
 
Kelly added: “It’s been an incredible journey so far. 2014 looks to be the most exciting year for AKQA, as we now have the scale and infrastructure in place around the world to help our clients create the future.
