BBDO Proximity Thailand’s TSPCA ads shed light on animal abuse

ASIA-PACIFIC, THAILAND – September 20, 2013 – The Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals tapped BBDO Proximity Thailand to create a series of ads as part of their efforts to raise awareness about animal cruelty.

In Thailand, and across the world, domestic animal abuse is commonplace practice, and is often overlooked, the agency noted.

The Daily Mail reported in April this year that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals rescued almost 131,000 domestic animals, 10 percent more than the number of cases in 2012.

The series of ads exposed the public’s general disregard for domestic animal abuse, using abuse marks to mimic typical trait characteristics of specific dog breeds.

"At first glance, most people do notice the abuse, only when they take the time to notice, it becomes obvious," BBDO Proximity said in a press release.

According to the agency, this discovery process is meant to encourage the viewer to think more deeply about animal abuse, and realize that not noticing and doing nothing to prevent it is part of the problem.
