GLOBAL – NEW YORK, JANUARY 11, 2012: Omnicom network BBDO has taken pole position for the fifth year running in the Won Report, an authoritative annual creative rankings that tracks the overall performance of agencies within the marketing communications discipline.

BBDO topped this year’s Big Won agency rankings with five offices in the Top Ten league, including the top two:  BBDO New York (#1) and AlmapBBDO in Brazil (#2).  Other Top Ten BBDO agencies were ColensoBBDO, Auckland (#5), AMVBBDO London (#6) and ClemengerBBDO Melbourne (#9). BBDO agencies were also ranked #1 in eight countries:  Australia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, US and UK.

Rounding out the top 5 networks were Ogilvy & Mather (#2), DDB (#3), Leo Burnett (#4) and Y&R (#5).

BBDO New York’s David Lubars was crowned the Top chief creative officer followed by Sahir Zag of Y&R Dubai, Alexander Schill of Serviceplan Germany, Olivier Altmann of Publicis Conseil, and Marcello Serpa of Almap BBDO Sao Paulo.

The highly-awarded ‘Heaven & Earth’ campaign by JWT Shanghai, the first China campaign to win a Cannes Grand Prix and key prizes in other major international awards, emerged as the top campaign across all media. It was followed by Droga5’s ‘Decode JayZ’ and McCann Erickson Bucharest American Rom Integrated and Jung Von Matt Hamburg’s Save as WWF sharing third place.

"The value of creative awards is in indicating which campaigns have, in all likelihood, given their clients real return on investment.  And the value of the Directory Big Won rankings is in identifying which agencies are most likely to generate remarkable commercial results for their clients," said Patrick Collister, author of The Directory Big Won.

The 2011 rankings are compiled from some 6,000 awards won by 4,048 campaigns on behalf of 2,461 clients by 1,302 agencies rewarding the efforts of 272 chief creative officers, 690 executive creative directors, 2,373 copywriters and 2,472 art directors
