BBDO Worldwide tops Big Won rankings; BBDO Guerrero leads in the Philippines

MANILA – JANUARY 21, 2013 – For an unprecedented sixth year in a row, BBDO Worldwide has topped The Directory Big Won as the most awarded agency network across all marketing communication disciplines.

For the first time, an agency from Asia-Pacific was the most awarded single agency in the world. Colenso BBDO in Auckland, New Zealand won on the strength of more than 100 awards for 20 separate pieces of work for 11 clients, most notably the ‘Sorry about the twigs’ campaign, which was the 17th most awarded piece of work in the world last year. BBDO New York came in second, with AMV BBDO in the UK was ranked #4 and Almap BBDO in Brazil was #11.

In the Philippines, BBDO Guerrero leads the pack, followed by Ace Saatchi and Saatchi and TBWASMP.

The most awarded creative executive in the world is BBDO New York’s David Lubars, followed closely by Colenso BBDO’s Nick Worthington.

Commenting on BBDO’s performance over the past year, Patrick Collister, author of The Directory Big Won said: “To be the top agency network of The Big Won rankings requires a spread of work, not just one or two particularly successful campaigns.  Clearly, BBDO is delivering the best work for its clients above the line, below the line, offline and online.” Collister used to work for Ogilvy & Mather London as executive creative director.

"There is a proven correlation between work that wins creative awards and work that is exceptionally effective.  Put simply, the best work works best.  And we want to do more of it than any other network," said Andrew Robertson, president and CEO, BBDO Worldwide.

Rankings for The Directory Big Won were compiled based on nearly 4,500 pieces of work, from 39 industry shows around the world and more than 1,500 advertising agencies.
