SINGAPORE – Christina Chong has joined Bates CHI&Partners Singapore as Managing Director, reporting to CEO David Mayo. She starts in April, the agency said in a press release.

Mayo said, “Christina Chong is coming to lead our Singapore hub and I am excited about that. She is a new breed of Asian Leaders who knows exactly how to navigate the complexities of the modern marketing environment. She cleverly blends instinct and intellect to create campaigns that grow brands and businesses. Most importantly, she knows what it takes to build Big Ideas for Ambitious Brands.”

Chong added, “Bates CHI&Partners has made great progress in the last 12 months, a remarkable job by David and the team. I am inspired by David’s relentless energy, his ambition for the network, and am excited to join such a great team. I am extremely pumped up about the prospect of working with the team to bring Asia’s newest network startup to the next formidable level.”

Chong’s experience spans more than 15 years. Chong leaves BBH Singapore, where she was Managing Partner and Head of Account Management. Chong joined BBH in 2006 as Business Director to run the Unilever Vaseline business, where she had both regional and global responsibilities. Chong was also the driving force behind BBH’s win of the Google and IKEA regional businesses, which she then led. For the past eight years in BBH, Chong’s work on Google and Vaseline has won the agency numerous effectiveness and creative awards.

Prior to BBH, Chong was Business Development Director with Ogilvy Singapore (2001 to 2006), where she was the new business lead, winning pitches for Coca-Cola (Southeast Asia), DHL, Ministry of Manpower, Prudential and Centerpoint Holdings, to name a few. Her clients also included Gillette, where she managed the regional portfolio across 11 markets in Asia Pacific, Motorola, Silkair and Singapore Airlines Cargo.
