Budget carrier Airphil Express takes on PAL brand

MANILA, MARCH 18, 2013 – Airphil Express is now known as PAL Express effective March 15, as it transitions as a full-service carrier like its parent company Philippine Airlines (PAL).

The transformation will see all PAL Express aircrafts donning the parent company’s "sunriser" livery and logo on its tail and fuselage.

The rebranding is aiming to further improve customer experience with the Express line. In a statement, PAL president Ramon Ang assures that even as PAL Express moves up the quality of service, it will remain as a low cost carrier in terms of managing cost.

Once the transformation is complete, passengers flying with PAL Express can enjoy complimentary snacks, drinks and reading materials to passengers on board, as well as earning miles through their membership with Mabuhay Miles.

Despite the changes, PAL and PAL Express will continue to be separate airline companies. PAL Express flights will continue operations with Airphil Express pilots and flight attendants.
