Interactive crowd ball lights up Katy Perry concert

THE PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 1, 2012: Those who were at Katy Perry’s California Dreams concert tour last January 22 may have seen the bouncing balls called interactive crowd balls.

The ball, introduced by Clear Channels Inc.,  contains a sensor and LED lights. The sensor is triggered when a person touches or taps the ball which then changes  the color of the ball.

"Late last year, we got a call from Smart asking us to conceptualize a product
that they can use as merchandising for a concert that they will sponsor this year.
They wanted something fun, engaging and original. They wanted it to reflect
their new logo. We got inspiration from the dots on top of their new logo,"says
Varick Ong, general manager of Clear Channels.

The actual video of the interactive crowd balls can be seen here.
