LBC sends appeal for Sendong victims

THE PHILIPPINES – DECEMBER 19, 2011: Philippine express courier and money remittance company Luzon Brokerage Corporation, more popularly known as LBC, posted a “Typhoon Sendong Appeal” via their LBC Foundation Facebook page to help the victims to recover after being hit and flooded by tropical storm Sendong (international name: Washi). LBC will be accepting in-kind donations that will be sent to the affected cities free of charge.

The ad says, “We are appealing to your generous hearts to provide our brothers and sisters from the South with much needed relief assistance from Typhoon Sendong. Bottled water, food, blankets, clothes, etc. are most welcome. You may drop off your donations at any LBC branch nationwide. To locate the nearest branch, you may call our hotline at (632) 8585-999. LBC will deliver these goods for free to the hardest hit cities and provinces.”

As of this writing, the Facebook photo showing the ad has over 2,000 shares, more than 1,100 likes, and 182 comments. LBC has also made the same effort during the Ondoy disaster in September 2009.

As of late, reports from Inquirer.net shows that death toll brought by Typhoon Sendong is now around 700 and hundreds are still missing from the flash floods.
