MMA finalizes SMARTIESâ„¢ APAC awards shortlist for August 23 showdown

SINGAPORE, AUGUST 14, 2013 – A total of 73 campaigns from 12 Asia Pacific markets were shortlisted for the Mobile Marketing Association’s Smarties APAC 2013 Awards, which will announce winners on August 23 in Singapore.

Shortlisted entries were announced for 15 of 20 categories. Campaigns from India, China and Singapore aced in the shortlist, which can be viewed at www.mmaglobal.com/events/the-smarties-apac/2013/overview

Smarties is touted as the only global competition that recognizes local, regional and intentional campaigns in mobile marketing as MMA moves to establish mobile as an indispensable part of the marketing mix and making the platform a key priority of marketers globally.

The shortlist features entries for fast-moving consumer goods, mobile and telecommunications, quick-service restaurants, automotive, travel, banking and sports. FMCG companies accounted for more than 40% of shortlisted entries. Cross Media Integration, Mobile Apps, Product / Services Launch, Promotion, Video / Rich Media, and In-App Advertising proved to be the most popular categories overall.

Jury chair Rahul Welde, media vice president of Unilever, will lead the discussion in Singapore to vote for the winners.
