Ogilvy appoints Katryna Mojica to head Indonesia; Gustavo Asman enters as creative lead

ASIA-PACIFIC – JAKARTA, INDONESIA, JANUARY 18, 2012: Ogilvy & Mather appointed Katryna Mojica to head the Indonesia office. She leaves her post as CEO in Ogilvy Vietnam, a position she held for four years in her eight-year stay in the Vietnam office.

Originally from the Philippines, Mojica has been with O&M for 15 years. She will assume her responsibilities in Jakarta on March 26, while Alex Clegg will take over as Ogilvy Vietnam CEO, where he has been managing director and planning director for the past six years. In the interim, David Mayo, president of Ogilvy & Mather ASEAN, will continue as CEO of the Indonesia Group.

“Katryna’s expertise in acquisitions, digital and new business development will complement her deep knowledge of the Ogilvy Asia Pacific operations,” said Mayo. “She is absolutely the right person for the role as we launch our next Five Year Plan with acquisitions and world class ideas and strategy at the core.”

Meanwhile, Gustavo Asman joins Ogilvy Indonesia from Wing New York where previously held the CCO for the past six years. Asman has earned more than 100 awards during his career, including Lions, Clios, Montreaux and Echos. “Indonesia is currently one of the world’s fastest growing markets and to be a part of that growth with Ogilvy is a dream come true,” said the Argentina-born Asman, who starts work in February.

This people movement represent a second wave of investments in Indonesia by Ogilvy, which celebrates its 40-year presence in the country.

“We are not alone in expecting Indonesia to be the next big growth engine after China and India,” says Paul Heath, CEO, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific. “Given its size, importance and potential, we want to invest… in a world class strategic and creative offer that sets the market ablaze. Katryna and Gustavo and the strong discipline leaders we already have are the perfect combination to bring our Five Year Plan to fruition.”
