Khoo Kar Khoon is Asia’s Most Popular Person in Digital Advertising

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 13, 2012: ihub Media’s 10th anniversary Facebook app officially drew to a close last week with the results announcement of Asia’s 10 Most Popular People in Digital Advertising.
 
With the votes tabulated, Nestlé Communications Director Khoo Kar Khoon topped the list of Asia’s favorites among those who have pushed for the digital industry to flourish in Asia.
 
The brand champion and innovator was already ranked in the top 5 during the final week of the campaign, and thanks to the endorsement of Malaysian actress, Lisa Surihani, Khoon sprinted to the lead.
 
“Let’s support a Malaysian to win the Most Popular Person in Digital Advertising in Asia! Kita vote Mr. Khoo Kar Koon ok?” was the rallying message that played a key role in the results. With a simple call-to-action directed to 2.1 million fans, the post not only gained hundreds of responses displaying Malaysian pride, but also secured the win for their chosen ambassador.
 
In a similar fashion, ihub Media’s Facebook post promoting the campaign has reached out to 600,000 users. The corporate effort has overwhelmed both the company as well as their peers by scaling a simple idea throughout the region.
 
ihub Media is honoured to have produced Asia’s 10 Most Popular People in Digital Advertising. The Facebook application was launched as part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations, and to recognize those who have made a difference in the region’s digital advertising industry.
