Philippine marketers commit to innovate and transform

THE PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 29, 2012: The Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) recently introduced its 2012 board of officers and directors, in a ceremony held at the Tektite Tower Auditorium in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The event carried the organization’s theme for the year, “Marketing Evolution: Innovations and Transformations”.

“The Philippine Marketing Association is motivated to keep this mindset among its members and business community at large through programs and services that will help inspire, stimulate, and nourish ingenuity,” said incoming PMA president Gwen Albarracin.

She emphasized that today’s marketers need to “connect and collaborate with today’s highly involved pro-sumers”  and that “there are paradigm shifts in the marketing landscape today that will keep on challenging and daring the Filipino Marketer to develop a dynamic approach that will call him to evolve.” Technology, Albarracin noted, will continue to influence and give rise to new demands and at the same time open new lines of communication between providers and consumers.

In his speech, inducting officer and House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said that marketing gives critical business information which can be used as tools for reinvention and improvement, aside from the promotion of products and services. He also underscored Albarracin’s thoughts on marketing as a communication channel between and among all concerned parties to be able to reach common expectations.

PMA projects and activities lined up for this year include the Asian Marketing Conference, Agora Awards, Agora Youth activities, collaborative events, and fellowship and sports programs.
