Shell Tongyi appoints JWT Beijing as AOR

ASIA-PACIFIC – BEIJING, CHINA, MARCH 14, 2012: JWT Beijing has been appointed by one of China’s best-known lubricant brands Shell Tongyi to handle its brand development in China.

The WPP-owned agency will be in charge of the brand strategy, product positioning and creative campaigns of the company.
“We’re thrilled to win a very intense, competitive pitch for this high-growth brand. Shell Tongyi has aggressive plans to grow its market, and we look forward to working with them to build brand equity and reach,” said Tammy Sheu, managing director for JWT Beijing.
Shell China Holdings acquired a 75% share in Beijing Tongyi Petroleum ChemicaL Company Limited in 2006. The resulting joint venture company, Shell Tongyi, produces a range of lubricants that are targeted to the mass and mass premium consumer segment.
