Spikes Asia 2013 invites young talents to join Young Media Academy

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 30, 2013 – The organizers of Spikes Asia are opening a new program for the young ones during the festival this year: theYoung Media Academy, an exclusive opportunity for young media talents aged 28 and under in the Asia Pacific region.

The Young Media Academy aims to give up-and-coming talents a fast track in developing their skills by demonstrating the value and execution of creativity in media channels, while providing a greater understanding of Asia Pacific’s media and advertising community.

With over 25 years of advertising experience, Philip Talbot – outgoing CEO of ZenithOptimedia APAC and founder & CEO of Asia Communication Expertise, will mentor the participants. Talbot has designed an exclusive program for the academy to reflect what he believes are key elements in engaging, developing and keeping top local talent inspired in the ever-changing but always challenging media industry.

Themed around innovation, the academy includes combined sessions from the main Spikes Asia stage, together with exclusive presentations in the classroom. This will be supplemented by select top advertising speakers, who will talk about how they developed their careers and what they see the future bring.

The line-up of guest speakers includes Mike Cooper, PHD Worldwide CEO; Sudeep Gohil, Droga5 chief executive officer/partner; Tom Uglow, Head of Google Creative Labs APAC; Adam Ferrier, Naked Communications founding partner and head of behavioral science; Greg Isbister, BlisMedia CEO; Harpreet Singh, ZenithOptimedia CSO; Richard Pinder, The House Worldwide co-founder and CEO; and John Hadfield, BBH CEO.

Delegates enrolled in the Young Media Academy will enjoy full access in the festival, including the Spikes Awards Show and After Party. The cost is S$695 per person. Program begins on September 15 and concludes with the Spikes Awards on September 17.
