The Gunn Report 2011 is out; Asia included in top 5 for 3 categories

GLOBAL, FEBRUARY 7, 2012: The Gunn Report has been released and Wieden + Kennedy grabbed the first and second spot for Most Awarded Agency in the World, a first in the history. Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam and Wieden + Kennedy Portland took the second spot. Meanwhile, Asia inclued in top 5 of Most Awarded Print Ads, Most Awarded Agency in Digital, and Most Awarded Director.

BBDO still reigns as the Most Awarded Network Agency in the World for the third year in a row. They notched up 55 more points than 2nd place with only 6 points separating 2nd to 5th.  In the 13 years of The Gunn Report, DDB has won in the Networks table twice, Leo Burnett and TBWA once each.  And BBDO all the other 9 times. 
 
JWT Shanghai bagged the winner for the Most Awarded Print Ads & Campaigns in the World for its work on Samsonite Suitcases "Heaven and Hell." This is the first time China has won an award.
Masashi Qanta Saquoosha Hiroki,Tokyo placed second while Dentsu Tokyo placed 5th as the Most Awarded Agency in Digital while AKQA (London), BBH (New York) & R/GA (New York) tie in the first spot.
Thailand’s Thanonchai Sornsriwichai is third Most Awarded Director while the first spot was awarded t Nike’s Write the Future director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
 
Most Awarded Commercials goes to Nike’s "Write the Future" by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam. 
The Most Awarded All Gunns Blazing (integrated, innovative, titanium et al) is a 3-way between Decode Jay-Z with Bing (Droga5, New York), Concert Hall Dortmund "Concert Milk" (Jung von Matt, Hamburg) and the entire integrated Old Spice campaign. 
USA wins The Most Awarded Country for the year having the second highest score ever in this category. Australia has its best ever ranking in 6th with 31 more points than previous best score.  Indonesia makes it in for the first time, taking the number of countries ever to appear in the Top 25 up to 38.
Nike still holds the top spot for the Advertiser of the Year for the past 12 years followed by Volkswagen, Google, Old Spice, and WWF.
First timer @radical.media (New York, LA, Sydney, Berlin) tops the list of Most Awarded Production Companies relegating MJZ, winner for the last 5 years, now down to 4th place. 
"This year saw one of the closest races ever in ‘The Most Awarded Agency Networks in the World’ table. Only 6 points separated four networks, between 2nd and 5th place. This highlights the remarkable level of creativity being practiced in our industry today," said Mark Tutssel, chief creative officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide and this year’s Gunn Report Guest Editor.
The guest editor for The Gunn Report 2011, Mark Tutssel, chief creative officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide contributed his own personal commentary on The Report and chapters on the most awarded work in the Film, Print, Digital and All Gunns Blazing tables.  He was also involved in making the final selections for The Showreel of The Year.
