MANILA, APRIL 24, 2013 – The Philippine Star has just introduced its latest free mobile app for devices running iOS and Android to allow its readers to “grab the news” even while on the go.
Crafted by developer SVEN Ingenuity, the app confers quick and easy access to the latest news and headlines, insights from key thought leaders and opinion-makers, the hottest updates in the sports world, the freshest news from the business domain, and sizzling showbiz scoops and lifestyle updates, as well as advice regarding jobs and job hunting via the Star’s career guide. A link provides direct access to Live It!, the Star’s augmented reality mobile reader.
“We’re very excited to be the first to provide newspaper readers in the country a brand-new reading experience and limitless possibilities through augmented reality,” said Star president and CEO Miguel Belmonte.
The augmented reality feature of the mobile app, called LiveIt!, will debut starting next week’s issues of The Philippine STAR. “It’s truly something to watch out for as it brings an opportunity for our readers to experience our content in a more engaging and interactive manner. For companies and brands, augmented reality provides them a wider avenue to collaborate with us,” quipped senior vice president for sales and marketing Lucien Dy Tioco.
