The Sweet Shop lands on Southeast Asia; appoints Claire Davidson executive producer

ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, FEBRUARY 17, 2012: Film production company The Sweet Shop opens its Southeast Asia office at Bangkok, Thailand with Claire Davidson to lead as executive producer. The company is set to open to other Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore.

"Claire’s appointment is indicative of our commitment to providing the best quality, high-end story-telling available. We can do this from anywhere in the world with our directors by bringing on the global production centers to support them,” explains Paul Prince, The Sweet Shop chief executive officer.

Davidson joins Sweet Shop from Sudest Productions in Vietnam where she was executive producer. She started working at MTV before moving to television commercials. She also led the in-agency production company of McCann Worldgroup One Six Six where she created work for the entire client roster of McCann Erickson Australia.

“I have admired The Sweet Shop for many years.” said Davidson. “I have always had the utmost respect for their directors’ creative achievements. Bringing The Sweet Shop into the Southeast Asian market is a clever move. We will carve our own niche in the region, and in so doing extend the existing amount of high end productions that The Sweet Shop is known for around the world," says Davidson.

"Claire and her experience in Vietnam and greater Southeast Asia represents a fantastic addition to The SweetShop’s management team", says George Mackenzie, managing director.
"We have been lucky to enjoy great support from the Asian region and bringing Claire on as the local Executive Producer is recognition of that growing demand. It will enable us to better service an extremely important market," adds Mackenzie.
