Calling members of polite society, unabashed romantics, and bookworms of all kinds–Fully Booked is cordially inviting everyone to a Jane Austen Readathon on November 29, 2025. In celebration of the author’s 250th birth anniversary, attendees will read and journey through Persuasion together from cover to cover, in a guided program where selected readers and special guests take the stage to bring Austen’s words to life.
Among the voices joining the celebration are Jessica Zafra, Gab Pangilinan, Langgam Performance Troupe, and more. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, allowing readers a full day to pay tribute to our favorite heroine and doyenne of romantic comedy.
First published in 1818, Persuasion was Jane Austen’s last completed novel. It is also considered her most mature work. Featuring the gentle and resilient Anne Elliot, it is beloved for its theme of second chances and its autumnal, reflective tone.
Happening at The Studio, located on the third floor of Fully Booked’s flagship branch in Bonifacio High Street, the Jane Austen Readathon joins festivities worldwide in honor of the 250th anniversary of the author’s birth. Around the globe, celebrations include costumed balls and dancing, tea parties, and visits to Jane Austen’s home.
To add to the Regency-era spirit, Readathon attendees are also invited to dress up in the fashion of her era. Those in their best Regency-inspired finery will have a chance to win a ₱3,000 worth of Fully Booked Gift Card.
Readers and fans are invited to bring their love of literature and to challenge themselves to finish a beloved classic novel together with fellow bookworms. Admission is free, and all book lovers—new and lifelong—are welcome to join this once-a-year celebration of one of literature’s most beloved authors.
