Globe and Provenance Art Gallery host intimate vernissage in support of the Hapag Movement

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Globe Telecom, in collaboration with Provenance Art Gallery, staged an exclusive art vernissage and silent auction on June 5, 2025 at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. The event served as a dynamic platform to advance the Hapag Movement, Globe’s flagship initiative to combat involuntary hunger in the Philippines.

Bringing together influential figures from the art, business, and advocacy sectors, the private affair presented a curated selection of works by renowned Filipino contemporary artists, including Andres Barrioquinto, Jayson Cortez, Max Balatbat, Martin Honasan, Jason Montinola and Raffy Napay. Each piece, distinct in voice and vision, contributed to the evening’s purpose driven narrative.

The centerpiece of the event was a silent auction that ran through June 7, with 50 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Hapag Movement. The remaining half supported the participating artists, a structure that underscores Globe’s commitment to both social impact and the thriving local creative economy.

Among the works featured was a striking piece by Andres Barrioquinto, one of the country’s most prominent visual artists. Known for his hyperrealist and surrealist paintings that blend nature, pop culture and Asian motifs, Barrioquinto draws influence from Japanese ukiyo-e and Baroque art traditions. His layered, oil-and-acrylic compositions have garnered critical acclaim, including the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ prestigious Thirteen Artists Award, and reside in esteemed collections across Asia.

“This is more than a showcase of art—it is a statement of purpose,” said Roche Vandenberghe, Globe Chief Marketing Officer. “We are deeply grateful to our customers and partners who helped transform an evening of cultural appreciation into meaningful support for communities experiencing hunger.”

Guests enjoyed a private viewing ahead of the exhibit’s public opening, alongside a curator talk by Stephanie Frondoso, light fare by Cibo and personalized Globe giveaways.
