MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Jacqueline Dominique “Nikki” Go, author of The Adventures of Damgo children’s storybook series, is back with a new installment following the success of her previous book.
In The Adventures of Damgo: Leon in the Water World, readers will once again join the titular astronaut, Damgo, on an exciting journey to a new, oceanic planet where he befriends a magical chameleon named Leon.

Artistry meets philanthropy
Like its predecessor, this latest book is brought to life by breathtaking illustrations that transport readers into the vibrant, watery world. These captivating artworks were created by seven talented young artists from Bahay Aruga, showcasing their incredible skill and creativity.
Nikki Go, who is also the founder of the Damgo Art Therapy Foundation, explains her motivation for collaborating with Bahay Aruga: “When I approached Bahay Aruga, I wanted to offer something more valuable than monetary donations — something that would have a lasting positive effect on the patients. Art therapy had that effect.”
The Damgo Art Therapy Foundation provides a creative outlet for young cancer patients, allowing them to express themselves and find distraction from their illness through art. This initiative stems from Nikki’s belief in the profound positive impact art can have on mental well-being.
A message of hope and inspiration
“I hope that through these stories, children all over the country and the world become inspired to dream big and help each other overcome any obstacle,” Nikki shares.

The new book continues to champion the series’ core messages: inspiration, hope, and healing through the medium of art. The Adventures of Damgo series is a collaborative effort, born from the community spirit of Bahay Aruga and Nikki’s Damgo Art Therapy Foundation, fostering an environment that encourages positivity in the lives of young cancer patients.
The launch will take place on July 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM at SM Podium’s Book Nook. Pre-order a copy now at bookshelf.com.ph.
