Smart marketing chief Bong Mojica to step down

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 23, 2011: Smart Communications, Inc., the country’s largest mobile network, has confirmed that its management has accepted the resignation of Danilo “Bong” J. Mojica II, its chief commercial officer and Wireless Consumer Division (WCD) head, effective January 1, 2012.

According to Smart’s official statement, Mojica requested to retire from his current positions in the telco, citing the need to spend more time with his family overseas, as his children are pursuing higher education and professional careers outside the country.

Mojica has nearly 30 years of experience in marketing and sales in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Pakistan. His career has taken him from Procter & Gamble Philippines and Indonesia to San Miguel Brewery Hong Kong and Reckitt Benkiser Indonesia.  Prior to joining Smart, Mojica was general manager and chief operating officer of Cebu Pacific Air. He is director of PilTel, Smart and its subsidiaries Wolfpac Mobile, Inc., SmartHub, Inc. and Airborne Access Corporation.
