MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) is celebrating a significant milestone this year as it marks its 25th anniversary, underscoring a legacy of world-class aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services while championing Filipino talent and driving economic progress.
Since its establishment in 2000, LTP has grown from a pioneering joint venture supporting Philippine Airlines’ fleet renewal into one of the Philippines’ most enduring foreign investments. Over the past quarter-century, it has positioned the country as a recognized force in the global MRO industry, trusted by some of the world’s leading airlines.
“For 25 years, Lufthansa Technik Philippines has been more than an MRO provider. It has been a training ground, a career builder, and for many Filipino families, a life-changing partner,” said Holger Beck, President and CEO of Lufthansa Technik Philippines. “We are immensely proud to have trained thousands of mechanics and engineers who are recognized globally for their expertise and dedication. These employees are the foundation of our success for the last 25 years.”

At the heart of LTP’s success is its long-term investment in people. The company employs over 3,200 individuals today and has trained more than 10,000 mechanics and engineers to date. Its programs—including the Lufthansa Maintenance Training Program, Aircraft Type Training Courses, and leadership development tracks—have enabled Filipino talent to rise to international standards.
A testament to this commitment is the enduring loyalty of its workforce: 221 employees who joined on Day One remain with the company, many now serving in leadership positions.
Rainer Janke, Vice President for Marketing and Sales, summarized Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ impact: “Why send Filipinos to the world when we can bring the world to the Philippines?” This philosophy has driven the company to create opportunities for Filipinos to excel at home, attracting international airlines to entrust their fleets to Filipino expertise.
Beyond its proficiency in handling complex aircraft checks and its capacity to service advanced models like the Airbus A380, LTP has nurtured a family-oriented culture. Multi-generational employment, employee referrals, and comprehensive benefits—from health insurance to educational subsidies and family engagement programs—reflect its dedication to building a stable and supportive workplace.
As one of the largest European investments in the Philippines, LTP has contributed billions of pesos toward infrastructure, training, and capacity-building, reinforcing Manila’s status as a vital aviation hub in Asia. Each aircraft serviced not only generates foreign revenue but also enhances investor confidence in the Philippines’ aviation capabilities.
As Lufthansa Technik Philippines celebrates its silver anniversary, it reflects on 25 years of keeping aircraft safe in the skies while empowering Filipino families with opportunities for growth and success.
