Tanduay brings Filipino craftsmanship to the global spotlight with dual gold wins

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — From the Philippines to the international stage, Tanduay rums are winning the respect of discerning drinkers, proving that local craftsmanship can compete on the international stage.

At the recent World Spirits Competition hosted by Cigar & Spirits Magazine, Tanduay was bestowed two gold medals, one each for Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years and Tanduay Double Rum. The contest gathered some of the world’s finest spirits and was judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, professional tasters, and spirit connoisseurs. They underwent a strict blind-tasting process to ensure fairness and integrity, with all identifying information about the products removed.

From this rigorous judging, Tanduay emerged, proving that Philippine-made rums can stand among the world’s best.

A craft passed down through generations

Beyond the accolades, Tanduay’s achievement represents the enduring skill and passion of the Filipino craftsman. Since 1854, Tanduay is proudly Philippine-made. Its distilling, aging, blending, and bottling processes are all done in the country. The ingredients used for its making are also all sourced locally.

Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years and Tanduay Double Rum both exemplify the brand’s mastery that has been refined throughout the years. Aged and blended to perfection, they offer distinct expressions.

Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years has aromas of dried fruits, toasted oak, vanilla, and butterscotch, has flavors of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruits, finishing with woody notes, raisins and dark chocolate. It is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels.

Tanduay Double Rum, meanwhile, has a sweet, fruity, floral, citrus, vanilla, caramelized pineapple, toasted nuts, cherry, vanilla, and tropical fruits aroma, and tastes sweet, fruity, and floral. It is made from a blend of rums aged 16 and 5 years that are further aged for 2 years.
