Publicis JimenezBasic art director RJ Ferrer designs abolish pork barrel logo

MANILA, AUGUST 25, 2013 – The abolish pork barrel logo, showing a visual pun of a thumbs down and a pig’s silhouette, was designed by Publicis JimenezBasic art director RJ Ferrer. It demonstrates dislike for pigs or simply says abolish pork barrel.

Since the logo was uploaded in Facebook on August 17, it has been spreading in different social media sites and was published in Philippine Daily Inquirer yesterday.

Ferrer conceptualized the logo while he was reading articles and threads about the recent pork barrel scam. Feeling the anger and hate on the issue, he designed something that people can easily understand and share online to show that they are all one on this issue.

“I just want to do something in my own way, I wanted to give the movement a face, an image that unifies or reflects the sentiments of the people about the issue,” he added.

The abolish pork barrel logo is the first socio-political inspired logo made by Ferrer.

On joining the ‘A Million People March to Luneta’ on Monday, Ferrer told adobo, “I’m joining because part of my salary is paying for somebody’s Porsche instead of the road it should run on.
