ASIA-PACIFIC – CHINA, MAY 8, 2013 – We’ll find out tomorrow as Lowe Philippines’ Leigh Reyes and Kariton Klasrum pioneer Efren Peñaflorida Jr take the stage at the Festival of Asian Marketing Effectiveness, happening today until tomorrow (May 8 to 9) at Shanghai.
Reyes is the president and chief creative officer of Lowe Philippines, winner of the country’s first ever Gold Clio. She’s been in the business for close to two decades, and her works have seen recognition across major industry shows such as Cannes, AdFest and the New York Festivals. Reyes regularly gives talks to advertising, marketing and academic audiences. Recently, Reyes was at AdFest 2013 addressing creatives to explore the possibilities of "stuff-making".
In 2007, Peñaflorida founded the Dynamic Teen Company – a nonprofit group offering Filipino youth an alternative to the influence street gangs through education, youth awareness projects, talent and self-development activities, and community services. He also pioneered the "pushcart classroom" movement known as the Kariton Klasrum which recreates school settings in unconventional locations.
Reyes and Penaflorida will be joined by Samir Singh, global brand vice president of Unilever, in a speaker session titled "Effectiveness Does Less With More".
Margot Torres, SVP for marketing and communications at McDonald’s Philippines, is joining the jury panel session today (May 8) with Campaign Asia-Pacific‘s Atfa Silk, JWT Asia Pacific’s Tom Doctoroff, BBDO Asia’s Chris Thomas and iiNet Australia’s Wendy Walker. Torres joins 50 of Asia’s top names in marketing in awarding the most effective campaigns in the region.
