Campaign Spotlight: ‘Game of Balls’ by M&C Saatchi Sydney

AUSTRALIA – In Australia, testicular cancer is the number one type of cancer that hits men aged 20-39. One in 214 men in Australia gets it but 97% of the cases can be curable if detected early.

Coincidentally, 70% of Aussie men watch adult movies online. Blue Ball Foundation, an Australian testicular awareness charity, through the help M&C Saatchi Sydney, took advantage of this fact by using this medium to promote awareness about the disease.

The foundation wanted to encourage young men to regularly check their reproductive organs for lumps and other possible signs of testicular cancer. This is a touchy (pun not intended) topic for some so M&C Saatchi looked for a place where they can directly talk about it to their target audience easily. Since they’re already there with their pants down and hands on their organs, they don’t really have to do much.

Partnering with LA adult film studio, Digital Playground, Blue Ball Foundation and M&C Saatchi Sydney sent out a public health message in the middle of a real adult movie with real porn stars and real action.

Entitled ‘Game of Balls’, which premiered the same day as the release (again, pun not intended) of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5, porn actress Eva Lopia gave an entertaining tutorial on how to properly check your balls.

By the end of the movie, men who actually found lumps on their reproductive organs will be advised to see a doctor immediately.

This campaign recently won a Gold Lotuses at ADFEST 2016.
