DDB Guoan continues growth with local wins in China

ASIA-PACIFIC – BEIJING, CHINA, SEPTEMBER 13, 2010 – On the back of phenomenal growth, DDB Guoan has been appointed as creative agency for Grand Sun Headphones, based in Shenzhen, and White Elephant Noodles (Baixiang), based in Hebei.

DDB Guoan’s newly formed digital team recently won the Grand Sun (Guan Xu) project, to support the launch of the new premium brand ‘233621’ of noise reduction headphones for the consumer market. The account, kicked off with a trade launch in Guangzhou, will culminate with a consumer launch plan and advertising campaign at the end Q3 this year.

White Elephant Noodles, one of China’s iconic food brands, has also appointed DDB Guoan as lead creative agency for an integrated campaign that will launch the brand into five new provinces. The long-term retainer agreement, with the Baixiang Group Second Division, will focus on brand management and product development for the brand’s wheat and spare-ribs flavor noodles. They will be part of a new product line called “You Mai Liang Pin”, separate to the mainstream brand. The company is the third largest brand in China’s competitive instant noodle snack category.

“These new account wins illustrate our strengths in local market knowledge and expertise,” noted Managing Director, Richard Tan. “Developing our local client relationships, for both project and retainer accounts, is a core aspect of our business objectives. These new local wins complement our multinational accounts, such as Volkswagen, and reinforce our versatility as an agency.”

“DDB Guoan continues to grow from strength to strength,” commented President and CEO of DDB China Group, Dick van Motman. “These recent local business wins round out a diverse range of new clients and reinforce our confidence in the ongoing potential of this joint venture and the entire DDB China Group.”
