PHILIPPINES – JUNE 3, 2010 – Ad agency band night Lakihan Mo Logo 14 started off unusually early for the adobo Ad of the Year 2010 Awards at Capones Bistro, A.Venue Mall in Makati City on June 2. DM9 JaymeSyfu’s Herbert Hernandez founded the Lakihan Mo Logo series for musicians from ad agencies to relax and de-stress. But this time, it was for the ads as much as the music.

In addition to the regular sets, hosts Syke Dolero of Underground Logic and Tutti Caringal of 6cyclemind also announced the 10 Ad of the Month 2010 winners who received their tropies. Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines, DM9 JaymeSyfu, JWT Manila, Leo Burnett Manila, Lowe Philippines, Publicis JimenezBasic and TBWASantiago Mangada Puno vied for the night’s top honor.

Lowe Philippines’ Selecta Cornetto spot entitled “Tugs” was named as adobo Ad of the Year 2010 through online voting and confirmed by popular vote on the website poll—a crowd-pleaser on all counts. The TVC, about a night out gone wrong, was a pop culture hit last year. Lakihan Mo Logo 14 may be different from the usual Ad of the Year event, but with music, ads and a very young crowd, among them band groupies, it was a night out for the books.

Performing bands included The Clan, Barrio Radyo, Kindel Garden, Gorgoro (from Leo Burnett), Discoball (from J Romero and Associates and McCann Erickson Philippines), Pastor na Amerikano, Pasok mga Bwitre (from BBDO Guerrero, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, Bates 141, and Proximity), Yeng Constantino & Morning Glory, Moonstar 88 and 2010 NU107 Band of the Year Franco, which closed out the night on time—past midnight, as usual.
The adobo Ad of the Year at Lakihan Mo Logo 14 was sponsored by San Miguel Beer, Beer Below Zero, Parallax Studios, welovepost and 88 Storey Films.
