Regional agency heads, clients to judge Tambuli Awards 2009

Judgment day is coming for the Tambuli Awards. Jury members of the 3rd Integrated Marketing Communications Effectiveness Awards have been announced by competition organizer the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) School of Communication and its partners, the Marketing and Opinion Research Society of the Philippines (MORES) and BusinessWorld.

An international perspective will come via three regional judges: Publicis Singapore Vice Chairman/Chief Creative Officer for Asia Calvin Soh, Dentsu Asia Chief Operating Officer and Dentsu Singapore Senior Executive Vice President Hiroshi Harada, and DDB Asia Pacific & Japan President and CEO John Zeigler.

Philippine advertising ilikewise, fields its own eminences: McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific Chairman Emily Abrera, Full Circle Communications Chairman and J. Walter Thompson’s Past Chairman Javier Calero, Publicis Manila Immediate Past Chairman Herminio Ordoñez and former Chairman, President and CEO of Dentsu Young and Rubicam Alcantara Brand Communications Jaime Puno.

Tambuli Awards will award the Effectiveness Agency of the Year to the one agency that wins in three distinct categories. Gold Winners can qualify for the Tambuli’s  highest distinction, the Carmencita Esteban Platinum Award. As previous juries have shown, their acuity to the stringent rules has left the award still pining for its first recipient. Should any agency win the elusive Award, its client company will be awarded a counterpart Effectiveness Advertiser of the Year Award.
