WoodWing customers win prestigious awards in Asia and Europe

GLOBAL – ZAANDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, JULY 2011 – WoodWing Software, an innovation leader in the field of cross-media publishing systems, that a number of its customers recently won prestigious prizes for outstanding print and tablet publications in Asia and Europe. The publications all use WoodWing´s cross-media publishing system Enterprise.
 
The Asian Publishing Awards, Asia’s premier awards program, presented by the Asian Publishing Convention on July 7 and 8 in Bangkok, honors the best multimedia practices in magazine and book publishing as well in corporate communications.
 
The iPad edition of Metro Magazines from ABS/CBN Publishing won the Gold Award in the category "Best Use of Screen Tablet.” Metro Magazine is the premier Philippine fashion magazine, published monthly by ABS-CBN Publishing. It was the first Philippine magazine available on the iPad. In the same category, Style magazine, from Singapore-based MediaCorp Publishing, won the Silver Award.
 
Andaman 365º by the Thai publisher Sirimedia Co. Ltd earned the Excellence Award in the category "Innovative corporate communications in a multi-media world.” Andaman 365º is the first digital magazine about travel and living in Thailand and is currently available on the iPad and RIM´s BlackBerry Playbook.
 
Hoffman und Campe Corporate Publishing of Hamburg (Germany), a leading provider of sound corporate communications, took home a number of prizes at this year´s Best of Corporate Publishing Award (BCP) event for a range of publications. The BCP is Europe’s largest and most important Corporate Publishing Award.
 
The BMW Magazine, published in 29 languages and 43 country editions, won Gold in the categories "B2C – Automobile" and "International Communication.” There were also two gold medals for the Evonik magazine both for the print edition in the category "B2B – Industrial / Energy / Pharma" and for the Evonik Magazine iPad kiosk app in the new category "Digital Media – Best Application.” Gold in the category "B2B – Handicraft / Construction / Architecture” was awarded to new spaces, the magazine of Gaggenau, a manufacturer of exclusive kitchen appliances.

The iMonitor ranking by McPheters & Company tracks more than 1,600 apps from more than 50 countries and is the most comprehensive and respected ranking of media-related apps for the iPad. Currently, among the 10 best media apps worldwide, the ranking lists six apps created with WoodWing’s Tablet Publishing Solution, including well-known publications like Project by Virgin Interactive, T3 by Future Publishing, The Sunday Times, the German daily newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau, the Schweizer Illustrierte from Ringier and Andaman 365º.
