Google and 72andSunny celebrate the power of curiosity in new campaign ‘Just Ask Google’

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Google Australia, in collaboration with creative agency 72andSunny, has launched a new integrated campaign that reimagines Google Search as a tool not just for finding information, but for forging deeper, more meaningful human connections.

Titled ‘Just Ask Google’, the campaign captures how everyday moments of curiosity can transform into moments of empathy and understanding thanks to the powerful capabilities of modern Google Search. From AI Overviews to Circle to Search and Google Lens, the campaign showcases the role of Search in helping Australians get closer to the passions and interests of the people they care about.

At the heart of the campaign is a hero film that follows the touching journey of a father attempting to connect with his teenage daughter through her love of K-pop. Featuring rising K-pop group LE SSERAFIM, the story captures the father’s immersive deep dive into the fandom – learning the lore, symbols and styles using Google’s suite of AI-powered tools.

A second film features The Block alumni Maddy and Charlotte Harry, as they take on the emotionally driven task of renovating their grandfather’s house. Produced in collaboration with Nine Powered Studios, this marks the inaugural year of partnership between Google and the hit renovation series.

“With more AI-powered features, Google Search is meeting the evolving search needs of our users, empowering Australians to find the answers they need seamlessly,” said Leah Ferris, Head of Search Marketing, Google Australia. “This campaign highlights how Search helps everyone navigate their world, making discovery and connection more effortless and meaningful.”

72andSunny Australia Chief Creative Officer, Wesley Hawes, added: “Whether it’s a parent trying to learn the rules of their kid’s new favourite sport, a partner researching vegan baking, or someone diving into the world of K-pop, the campaign brings to life how Google Search can empower people to better understand those they care about the most. It’s not about knowing everything — it’s about wanting to know. Search almost becomes an act of love.”

The integrated campaign spans TV, online video and sponsorship of The Block, highlighting product innovations such as Google Lens, Circle to Search and AI Overviews.
