BANGKOK, THAILAND — KFC Thailand has crafted a new kind of intensity with inspiration from a classic dining table debate where everyone claims they can handle the heat. This isn’t your average instant burn; it’s a calculated climb, a true “slow burn” experience. This fiery journey is brought to life through a new commercial under the concept of “Seems Not Spicy. Then Suddenly–Scorching,” capturing the moment the heat finally catches up.

The brand taps into a relatable human insight that everyone experiences heat at a different pace.
Some are confident they can handle it, while others claim it’s “not spicy” at all. But often, the burn doesn’t hit its peak with the very first bite—it seeps in, climbing level by level until, before you know it, your tongue is on fire. This insight is the heart of the new commercial for “Angry BBQ WingZ,” a clever play on the audience’s emotions.
The story opens with a young man taking his first bite of the Angry BBQ WingZ, firmly declaring, “It’s not spicy.”

But as he keeps eating, the intensity accelerates, sweat begins to bead, his mouth starts to sting, and he finally blurts out, “My tongue is on fire!” Despite the overwhelming heat, the flavor is so addictive he simply can’t stop. The commercial captures this slow burn rhythm of spice in a way that is fun and unforgettable—perfectly driving home the stinging concept of “Seems Not Spicy. Then Suddenly–Scorching.”
Suhayl Limbada, Chief Marketing Officer KFC Thailand, said, “It’s a debate we all know — why do some people insist ‘it’s not spicy,’ while others can’t handle it? The truth is spices hit everyone differently. Some feel it fast; others feel it slow. That insight led us to craft a true slow-burn experience with Angry BBQ WingZ — heat that builds gradually, layer by layer, catching you off guard. This isn’t about declaring how spicy it is. Spice isn’t measured by what you say — your tongue always tells the truth.”
